Hey Everyone!!!

How's everyone doing after the Oscars hangover?! LOL! Did you enjoy the show this year? Happy with the winners? I love Conan! I had it on while I was working, but I am not as invested as in other years! I still have to see some of the nominated movies! This year, my goal is to get to the theatre more and see more new releases! That being said! Are you going to see Project Hail Mary this week? Does it pique your interest?

This week's lineup!

TNG Tuesday - S4xE7 "Reunion" - S TIER STAR TREK EPISODE!!!

Friday - Poll Runner-up A Knight's Tale (2001) I've been wanting to see this FOREVER!

Saturday - LIVE catch up and hang with Ames! Most likely 12 pm PST start!

AFI Sunday - This Beast sits at #7 on the AFI Lawrence of Arabia (1962). I don't know anything about this movie other than it's David Lean's and some directors' favourite movie.

I have a few exciting things to share with you all soon!! But until then.... hehehe!

Let me know what you have been up to and what you have been watching! I look forward to hanging out with you all on the live this weekend!!!

Have an amazing WEEK!

xx

Lawrence is a masterpiece, but it's looong. Glad you're finally getting to it Ames.

Lawrence of Arabia is based on a true story. I'm looking forward to your reaction.

LOA is SOOOOOO good!

A Knights Tale is my all time comfort movie. The cast is just brilliant, it is so much fun. Can't wait for Project Hail Mary. Absolutely loved the book and the reviews imply the movie holds up.

I’ve read Project Hail Mary three times, and I already have my tickets for the movie on Friday. (I was on a panel in February where we discussed the difficulties in adapting this particular novel, which is harder, I think, than adopting The Martian.) But the early reports I’ve heard make me optimistic. I think you’re going to love Lawrence of Arabia. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen it. It inspired me to read T. E. Lawrence’s memoir, “The Seven Pillars of Wisdom”, and to learn a lot more about the early 20th-century geopolitics of the region, which are responsible for a lot of the problems we are having now. I watched the Oscars only to see Jessie Buckley win the Best Actress award I knew she’d get. (I adore the novel Hamnet, and the film was a beautiful adaptation that captured the heart of what made the book so special —!although, judging by some commentators’ comments, it may be that that heart is more apparent to those who see the film after reading the book.) (If you see it, bring a whole box of tissues.)

I like LOA. Seems like reception is divided between (1) long/boring and (2) love it, and not much in between. Reunion = one of my favorite S4 episodes. I liked A Knight's Tale back in the day -- will see what I think now.

It's paced fine, you'll have no problem with it, there's nothing to fear, people hype this stuff up and then you end up dreading watching the movie before you even get to it. That's not the way to send someone into see a four-hour movie. I'm not even Mr. Lawrence Of Arabia, but it's a great movie, it's easy to watch.....there's an intermission so you can take a break if you need...... Obviously you can see that it's long, that's not exactly news. But I think you'll clearly see the difference between an epic that's placed at number 7 vs. one like Spartacus or Ben Hur, placed at 92 or whatever they were. Far superior movie. Kubrick himself would be the first one to say it! Looking forward to it!

Looking forward to Lawrence of Arabia. I hadn't watched it until a few months ago, picked up the blu ray and I love it, watched it twice now and I feel like it will be something I'll come back to in a few years after having learned more about the filming of it. Great choice!
