Houston, we have a problem... *APOLLO 13* Movie Reaction

Nice! Watching it now!

Another excellent Kevin Bacon/ensemble film: Sleepers (1996) w. Jason Patric, Brad Pitt, Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver.

Very nice reaction! I think of this film as science fiction, even though it's a true story and as accurate as they could make it, because science and engineering play such crucial, central roles in the narrative. You'll remember the line "steely-eyed missile man" repeated in "The Martian", a nod to this amazing moment in history. I very clearly remember the events of Apollo 13. I was a kid who had watched Star Trek TOS religiously, and who had followed all of the previous Apollo missions on TV. (I actually remember the night the Apollo 1 astronauts were killed; I was watching TV with a babysitter, and the news flash interrupted the program.) Ironically, the film "Marooned" (1969), a disaster movie about a three-man Apollo-like crew in space bin mortal danger from various malfunctions, came out only five months before the launch of Apollo 13; I remember hearing that Jim Lovell begged his wife not to watch it.

This film is a masterpiece. My dad worked for McDonnell Douglas on both the Gemini and Apollo programs, so the moon missions were a big deal at our house. I remember being glued to the TV watching the Apollo 13 drama. I got chills watching this film. Great reaction!

I want to watch the full watch along if there is one but I can't find it. It would be helpful if there was just a "Full watch along" collection that I could search
