Thank you ALL for spoiling me with this Sci-Fi Poll Winner!!!

This movie rocks and means so much more to me now! I understand why the feeling I had from when I was a kid was pure exhilaration because that is what this movie gives to you!! So it makes sense that I was stoked with my brother! The filmmaking in this was incredible, and I found a new love and appreciation for this movie—more so than I could have ever imagined. The lighting, camera work, set deck, and of course, the Special FX and the Xenomorphs!! I can see how watching these movies from when I was a kid affected me, mostly subconsciously, in how I have a standard for filmmaking because we were spoiled with these amazing stories. After seeing the poster, I did remember there was a little girl in it! Didn't remember her nickname, and The Queen was incredible! I still think Hicks has a lil alien in him... Hilarious I thought Bishop was in the first one.. WHY did I think that?? LOL

This movie is a 10/10. I feel like I was exhausted and maybe should have chatted longer in my outro, but we can talk about it more on a live or when I get my Discord organized! LOL!

This movie a serious representation of "They REALLY don't make movies like they used too".

Thanks for being here you guys! YOU ROCK!

I remember seeing this in the theatre and was maybe one of the few times I’ve seen an entire audience terrified on the edge of their seats. Like you said. THIS is why we go to the movies and it really put James Cameron in the top tier of new filmmakers who always delivers…

Top 10 movie for me. James Cameron absolutely slayed it in the 80s/90s. That's why The Abyss (SE) should be on the menu at some point. I collect vinyl records and part of that is collecting soundtracks. I bought the Aliens record 1 or 2 years ago and it has that iconic picture on it. It's a stunning cover. James Horner's score on this is epic. The score when Ripley takes over the truck/tank thing to get the marines out amps the scene to max anxiety levels. Looking forward to watching this tonight.

Now Alien 3? That may or may not as well remembered!

This and Top Gun were my favourite films as a teenager! (couple of years ago.... ahem!) I must have watched them both over a hundred times... no exaggeration!!

Just watched it, great reaction! Really enjoyed it. Sigourney plays such a bad ass character. Roles in action/SciFi movies will never be in contention for an oscar for some reason, but her performance as Ripley is iconic. Bill Paxton's delivery of his lines is just next level, such a fun character. 'Game over man, game over.' RIP Also Paul Reiser as Burke, the guy you just love to hate. Bit of a shame you watched the theatrical cut. The Special Edition is the version James Cameron intended. It's about 15 minutes longer and really adds some depth to some characters and helps explain some motivations. But we'll keep that for next year for a re-rewatch. 😜 Should The Abyss come around, the special edition is the way to go for the same reasons. The extra footage is actually even more crucial to that movie.

"She's going to need cryosleep after this!" That was gold. Ripley is easily one of my favorite action heroes ever. Believe it or not, I still somehow have my entire Kenner action figure line from this film, from 1992, stored away. I don't know how they've survived. I didn't know too much about them until I got older, and suddenly felt irritated to find out that the figures for Hudson and Vasquez were only released in the UK. I always wondered why I didn't get those for Christmas with the others, over those few years. I always just thought my parents needed to understand the movie a little better, lol. I guess they did a pretty good job.

It was great to see this masterpiece again with you Ames! Two things stood out to me this time through. One was the chemistry between Ripley and Hicks. I loved when Hicks gives her the locator, and says, "I can find you anywhere in the complex on this". Then when Ripley says "Thanks" and gives him a tender look, he sheepishly adds, "Doesn't mean we're engaged or anything." LOL What a great moment! The other was when Ripley was in the standoff with the Xenomorph Queen and slowly backing out of the room with Newt. The look on Ripley's face when one of the eggs opens and she makes the decision to burn it all. Such terrific acting! You could see the thought process on Ripley's face, the moment of decision, and the single word in her mind: "No".

Loved this watch along, thank you for the work you’re putting in. Even though it isn’t as lauded, Alien 3 IMHO is a great follow up, and a David Fincher movie! Score!

Literally one of the greatest movies ever made. I hate that the Oscars shuns genre movies because what a sweeping miss to not nominate this for Best Picture. Yes, Sigourney Weaver was nominated for Best Actress, an unprecedented thing then and now, as performances in genre movies are often overlooked too. But she gives literally one of the best performances in the history of cinema in this movie. Not hyperbole. She runs the entire spectrum of human emotion in this movie and nails it every step of the way.
