Hey everyone! Looks like Western is dominating the poll! So Western it is!!

I have only seen “Tombstone” and “Django Unchained”(if that counts as a western) So I am brand new to the genre.

Could I please get your top 2-3 choices of some wicked Westerns that you think would be amazing for me to watch! I have a feeling it’s gunna be a lot!! If you have the same picks as others please keep them in your noms so I can see what is more popular!

Thank You!!!!

3:10 to Yuma (2007) Hostiles Hell or High Water - This one might be a stretch because it's set in the modern day, but I think it qualifies as a "modern western"

Spooky Dooky

Young Guns 1988, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs 2018, and A Million Ways to Die in the West 2014

OK I gave some honest choices for Western movies, but you know I like to keep it on the lighter side, so Westerns but funny and cool.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid And a personal favorite the critics didn't love much, The Quick and The Dead, starring Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe and a very young Leo, whom wasn't wanted in the movie and Sharon Stone ended up paying his salary to convince producers to keep him

David K

I like western comedies, so I'll vote for Maverick (1994) and Three Amigos (1986)

OkieBoomer

Unforgiven. But if you want to be a bit different from the others I'd suggest the miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989). The best Western I've ever seen.

Rick Sullins

Quigly down under for sure then open range…and anything with Sam Elliott in it

Reggie

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The classic western from Sergio Leone starring Clint Eastwood, Eli Wallach, and Lee Van Cleef.

Kim

High Noon, Shane and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid 😎

Jim Finley

Open Range and 3:10 to Yuma (2007)!

ITMacPro

Cowboys & Aliens is a beautiful movie!

Taz

This would be fun: Shanghai Noon (2000) 🤣 Cowboys and Aliens (2011) 👽 Legends of the Fall (1994) 🤠 Classics: Magnificent Seven (1960) Fistfull of Dollars For A Few Dollars More The Good, The Bad, The Ugly Rio Bravo Butch Cass and the SDKid

Todd Rush

If you are into doing a series, Deadwood is one of the best things I have ever seen. It is a western with Shakespearean-level dialogue and plot twists. Only 3 seasons and a movie finale. And I don't like westerns for the most part. Oh, and The Proposition is also great. Australian western. Kind of rough, though.

Nathan

Maverick is the #1 in the niche genre of the comedy western

Nathan

Open Range Drama, suspense and romance with engaging characters, great performances, and a lot of heart. Robert Duvall is simply excellent with an understated humanity Annette Bening delivers on what could have been a thankless role in less able hands Kevin Costner in a bit of an atypical part gives his best ever film performance hands-down

Clay F

GODLESS (2017) western miniseries (7 episodes). IMDb=8.2. Nominated for 13 Emmys including Outstanding Limited Series. Won 3 Emmys including Jeff Daniels (who is stunning).

MisturSmith

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs!
