Ames, maybe I missed an explanation elsewhere but would it be possible to put the movie title in the description for the Wheel of Wonder videos? It makes noticing and searching for specific movies at a later date easier.

This was an intriguing movie i sort of forgot about. It's a tough rewatch though, the suspense and the twist was half of what made it great without that it does fall a little flat but watching it unfold for someone else kinda adds that back to a big degree, it's kinda perfect for reactors!

Good choice Scot! Underrated sci fi and loved the sets and story..

I love the tech in this movie! There are also some good "The Making of" videos available.

I hope everyone enjoys this. It’s not my favorite movie of all time, but I do think it’s very underrated. I thought the set design was very different from anything else I’d seen before, kind of like if Apple designed the future. The standout thing for me was the sound design, especially the drones; whatever that ‘roar’ is they let out really got me. I tend to internalize things and I know when I rewatch the movie with Ames, and all of you, I’m going to cringe at every flaw the film has, but I liked it and I hope you do.

Definitely not as good as my first watch, I went into it with little expectations a few years after it came out and really loved it. The third quarter is really weak, basically when they get to the 'scavs' they throw in a bunch of action and the 'scavs' are just pretty dumb. I think you are probably right in that it seems like there's hints of more development with them that got cut. Also the explanation of the invasion seems to fly against the internal logic in the movie to me, they seem to retain their essential personality and even glimpses of their complex memories which govern how they behave, hence all the questions and events of the story, so how were thousands-millions convinced to go and exterminate humankind? Why did they put that in there when the drones already exist and are exactly that; quick and efficient mass killers? That and other dumb parts of the 'scavs' section of the movie was a real let down and low point. But definitely great visual and audio design in this and the basic sci-fi in it is what I love.

1st time watch. Started great. Devolved into boring sci-fi tropes done much better in similar movies. They can’t all be masterpieces. This one didn’t land with me at all. Yuck! 🤷‍♂️
