Ooooh!! I can't wait to watch this one with you, Ames! Later... work beckons.

I can’t wait to watch your reaction. CP is my favorite film. It’s a celebration of life, love, family, friends, and film. And oh, that soundtrack!

Looking forward to a first watch of this movie (along w/your reaction). I do not think I have seen this movie.

YAY!! This is a MUST SEE for every MOVIE LOVER... It's a great reminder of why we all love the movies. BTW.. Catchermag is 1000% right. It has what I consider the GREATEST film score of all time. Ennio Morricone's crowning achievement that once you hear it you will never get it out of your head. Had the pleasure of hearing the CSO perform it at Ravinia once in 1995 (I'm sure John's been there as well). Glad you enjoyed it and remember Ames. There's a little of Toto in all of us!

So... I've been thinking about the "W.O.W" selection process, and I have an amendment that I would like to put up for consideration. As of right now, people whose nominations have won the week are immediately able to put another nomination on the list. This essentially means that someone who recently won has the same chance to have their new nomination selected as those who have never won. Maybe I'm in the minority, but this doesn't seem fair to me. Right now there are 37 films on the spreadsheet, assuming you pick one film a week, even if no new films were added this would mean it would take the good part of a year to even get through the ones that are already on the list. Obviously, this doesn't even factor in people are are adding to the list with their first time nominations. So, this being the case, I would like to propose that people whose films have been selected are no longer able to nominate a new film for a certain period of time. How long that period of time might be, I don't really know. Ideally, until every other nomination had been watched, but that's probably not realistic. Anyway, just wanted to put this out there as a point of discussion. Ultimately, it's Ames channel and she can run it as she sees fit. Maybe my idea would be too much of a pain in the ass to keep track of, and I can sympathize with that view.

I made the mistake of watching this with you at work. I first saw this film 32 years ago and it hit me like a freight train, and it still does to this day. The best score ever, the best kiss ever, and on and on. There is an extended version with extra scenes that you should seek out. I’m sure RFK knows why but I won’t spoil it for you. This is my favorite film ever and it will never be replaced. I’ve seen it at least 20 times and weep like a fool every time.

ooof... just missed mine... congrats RFK Fan!!

What a beautiful score! I will have that in my head for days. Little Toto is such a loveable shit 😆😆 And Alfredo has a such a wonderful face, all I could think is that I would love to see a Studio Ghibli version of him.

Can you imagine suddenly getting to see every romantic scene you were never able to, with the characters you had spent years of your life memorizing and falling in love with? Watching the actor's expression in that theatre, I felt the moment was captured perfectly.

What a great film! This was a first time watch for me! Unforgettable!! And the amazing score by Ennio Morricone!! Perfect!! I have long enjoyed Josh Groban's version of the SONG Cinema Paradiso. Here's a link to that version of the song with clips from the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpp5ioMbBd4. What a great pick RFK!!

Oooooo! Congratulations RFK Fan! I will be watching this THIS weekend!!! Great choice!

That was a five-hanky reaction!!! I'm emotionally wrung out! You and me both! There was a moment that reminded me of what it must be like having a reaction channel! "Tomorrow we'll have a Western, I promise!" and people arguing with each other on the way out, just as we do in the comments section "You idiot! That's not what the movie was about at all!" :D I have to share this little experience I just had watching this reaction: I haven't seen this film since since my teens/early 20s (when it came out and once or twice afterwards). Rewatching it now, I was shocked to discover that I now have seen many of the films that he shows in the theater! Not all the kissing clips at the end (though some I did!) but most of the films he shows: Lower Depths, La Terra Trema, Rocco And His Brothers.... Ha, two of those are Visconti films. And he keeps Visconti's title card up on the screen at one point. Definitely an homage to the great director! Ok, let me not keep babbling on. LOVED THIS REACTION! So happy to have gotten to share that with you, we cried buckets, didn't we?! (That kid, oh man, that kid did such a great job. And the actor who played Alfredo. I just want to give him a hug!)

Hey! I am a new patreon here. I did want to ask. Do you have a condensed YouTube version of this? I will most likely watch this with the full movie at some point since it's one of my favorite movies in the world and it moves me so much. But I don't have a lot of time these days to watch full reactions. Fun fact though, this film speaks to me so much because I have always been an incredibly romantic and dreamy person. I left my own small town a cinephile to move to LA and start a film education, work in the film industry. But I feel so sad because I am incredibly emotionally attached to my family and my home and try to get back every chance I get. But anyway that's another story. I am working as an editor now and I get to see so many cool screenings out here. I even met Giuseppe Tornatore, who directed this, at a screening in LA last year. I was so tongue tied and I couldn't help when I first said hi.
