■ X:
- JeebsTX (@JeebsTX) is really liking X Pro.
- According to the Financial Times, an increasing number of brands are planning to cut advertising on X next year. In a survey by Kantar, a net 26% of marketers planned to cut X ad spend, and only 4% considered X ads brand-safe. X responded by pointing out that third parties like DoubleVerify have assessed X as having very high standards of brand safety, and that consumer ad preference for X has increased significantly.
- X will now let you change the quality of the videos manually on iOS.
■ xAI:
- xAI has been forced to exclude EU user data from its dataset used for training Grok. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) launched High Court proceedings against X on how they are utilizing the public data. The DPC is the Irish supervisory authority for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under the GDPR, X is required to seek explicit permission from EU users over the use of their data. In the app, X added a setting within user accounts with the option to give X permission to use their posts and activities to train Grok. The EU thinks this is not good enough.
