■ TESLA $TSLA ($213.65, -1.98%):

- The new Tesla Service Center in Leiria, Portugal. Per Tesla's Bruno Tiago, "Get to know this new Tesla space in Portugal and discover our entire range of models. Take the test drive on your favorite model. We are open from Monday to Saturday, between 10 am and 7 pm. We look forward to your visit."

- Q3 2024 Earnings Call live at 4:30 p.m. CT.

- FSD v12.5.6.1 is going out to early access owners.

- The Tesla Energy Team, including the Megapack Team, is in Melbourne, Australia, for the All Energy event. Go talk them up at booth WW113 today and tomorrow.

- According to Meghan Horrigan-Taylor, City of Palo Alto spokesperson, Tesla is in talks with the city to test the Cybercab on the city's streets. Approval by the California Public Utilities Commission and the California DMV are needed first.

- Tesla's Max de Zegher (@MdeZegher) posted a great Article detailing a new 168 stall Supercharger in Lost Hills, California. The site will include 11 MW of ground mount solar and canopies to met demand and a lack of grid efficiency, 10 Megapacks will be included with 39 MWh of storage. This is all being built on 30 acres of land.

- Tesla China VP Grace Tao Lin, Tesla will join in on the construction of Chongqing "Supercharger City." Per Grace, "Tesla will continue to increase its investment in building a charging network that covers more regions and counties outside major cities based on more than 50 existing charging stations." ■ SPACEX:

- Last night, Super Heavy Booster 13 was placed on the Orbital Launch Mount! We have road closures on the 24th and 25th. So expect a Static Fire on one of those days!

- The Hornbeck Offshore Services (HOS) Ridgewind has returned to Port with the Flight 5 Hot Stage Ring. Be on the lookout for transportation of the ring back to Starbase. Pic of recovery by @StarshipGazer.

- Today at McGregor, SpaceX tested the rapid restart of a Raptor back-to-back up to 35 times! Insane!

- NASA and SpaceX are still targeting today, the 23rd of October, for the departure of Crew-8 from the ISS. Weather conditions seem to have improve off the coast of Florida.

Countdown to 144 (98 - Falcon 9, 2 - Falcon Heavy, and 3 - Starship):

  • Launch 104! Wednesday, 23rd of October, at 5:47 p.m. ET, Falcon 9 Starlink 6-61 will launch from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

  • Launch 105! Thursday, 24th of October, at 1:13 p.m. PT, Falcon 9 NROL-167 will launch from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. This is the suspected fourth batch of satellites for a reconnaissance satellite constellation built by SpaceX and Northrop Grumman for the National Reconnaissance Office to provide imaging and other reconnaissance capabilities. The booster will land on drone ship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean.

  • Launch 106! Saturday, 26th of October, at 5:47 p.m. ET, Falcon 9 Starlink 10-8 will launch from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The booster will land on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean.

■ THE BORING COMPANY:

- AvPac Insurance (@AirBroker) got some great pics of the Vegas LOOP South Hall Junction. Boring crews have the entire area "sealed up with a final concrete pour today, and the paving machine was removed. They will come back and open the access to the facility later." Looks as if nothing is under there.

■ NEURALINK:

- Per Neuralink's Sam Schmitz (@samschmitz), "For volume <1k/week, these books or related six-sigma midwittery is only going to set you back. Put yourself + best engineers on the line for a week, and inefficiencies will be obvious. Just fix things that don’t make sense, and consider every suggestion from your operators. And set up traceability right away. I.e. at the end of the day, you can go back to each SN and know who did what step at what time, and with which component. That’s it. There are a million ways to do this but paper travelers are a simple first step (gold standard for decades)."
