"And V13 is trending to be ~500% better..." - Elon Musk

■ TESLA $TSLA ($338.59, -3.96%):

- Tis the season! Giga Berlin has their Christmas decor up and running. Pic by Bernd Schön (@BerndSchoen).

- Per Joe Tegtmeyer (@JoeTegtmeyer), a new permit for three buildings has been filed for Giga Texas at the 243 acres around the switchyard and Megapack area. It is titled the "Giga Texas - Central Campus Support Facilities." Joe has provided the above map to show the area slated.

- Tesla AI (@Tesla_AI) released a thread of videos showing FSD corner cases used for testing. The thread depicts 16 key scenarios; Reverse Cut-in, Peeking, Left Turn Cut-In, Parallel Cut-In, Yield for Oncoming During Overtake, Stop Sign Right-of-Way Violator, Door Opening During Overtake, Right Turn Harsh Braking, Left Turn Across Path, Cut-Out to Static Cone, Dynamic Debris, U-Turn Cut-In, High Speed Cut-Out to Stationary Vehicle, High Speed Harsh Braking, High Speed Stationary Child, and High Speed Crossing Child.

- Today, California Governor Gavin Newsom stated Tesla would be excluded from the new EV credit rebates he is proposing. Per Newsom, "It’s about creating the market conditions for more of these car makers to take root." Looks political, considering other automakers have had the same benefits as Tesla and could not take root. Per Elon, "Even though Tesla is the only company who manufactures their EVs in California! This is insane."

- Chicago XR startup Omnia with partners Microsoft and the City of Chicago held an Ignite kickoff party at the Tesla Store in Chicago. They showcased the best of Chi-town to attendees from around the globe. Tesla test drives, tastes of Chicago's diverse culinary scene, Apple Vision Pros. Attendees could virtually walk around and even go inside new Tesla models, including Cybertruck. Per Omnia founder & CEO Aldo Petruzzelli, "This project clearly demonstrates how spatial computing and immersive shopping can create value for brands like Tesla. It can also captivate end-users as seen from their reactions at our event and elsewhere."

- Warren Redlich (@WR4NYGov) posted some new images of the Shanghai Megafactory and they show what appears to be a completed exterior. No info of the state of the interior, but the build is in overdrive.

- The EPA is reporting Tesla sold nearly 34 million metric tons of carbon credits in 2023 and GM purchased nearly 44 million.

- Cybertruck FSD has launched in Canada.

- Tesla China launched a 10,000 yuan ($1,380) discount for Model Ys on top of the 0% APR for 60 months.

- Not a lot of details, but Tesla Japan posted a the above pic of Optimus. Not sure if this is a hint that it will be on display in stores, or an actual event. An event would be cool.

■ THE BORING COMPANY:

- Latest view of the westside Cyber-Tunnel exit via Joe Tegtmeyer.

■ NEURALINK:

- Neuralink announced the approval and launch of a new feasibility trial to extend their BCI N1 Implant to an investigational assistive robotic arm. This is a step towards restoring physical freedom for amputees via free flow thought to motion.

Elon stated the following in July of 2023, "I should say another cool thing about Optimus is that there's, just in the U.S. alone, there are 2 million amputees. And I was just talking to the Neuralink team, and by combining a Neuralink implant and a robotic arm or leg for someone that has had their arm or leg or arms and legs amputated, we believe we can give basically a cyber body that is incredibly capable. A Six Million Dollar Man in real life. Don’t want to cost $6 million. $60,000 man.

This sounds impressive, but it will actually, I think, would be incredible to potentially help people around the world and give them a robot arm, or like, that is as good, maybe long term better than a biological one."

- Noland just pushed the BCI nonstop for 72 hours. The dude is a machine... well partly. Per Noland, "That's 72 hours in the books! Had a little bit of a mishap at almost exactly 69 hours in true Elon fashion. Thanks to everyone who made this happen and who stayed up with me in the wee hours of the nights. Thank you for your generosity and thank you for your friendship. And thank you Neuralink for undertaking such an important mission. Now no one bother me while I go sleep."

■ STARLINK:

- A toasty Starship 31 takes a dip in the Indian Ocean and Starlink was there to watch. "High-speed internet for when you’re flying through space or coming in for a landing on the other side of the world."

- The Western Australian Police Force has already spent $3.5 million of the announced $8.5 million investment on Starlink to unify its multiple connectivity networks. Named the 'anywhere communications project,' the program uses Starlink reseller Vocus to supply Starlink to 122 remote police stations and 550 vehicles across the state. Per a WA Police spokesperson, "This satellite technology can provide an additional and important element of safety for responding officers... Officers can access vital information with minimal delay including intelligence relating to the movement of people, vehicles and goods, as well as the background of persons of interest to identify potential threats more quickly and efficiently."

- Andrew Chandler of Cross Shore Media is at the Tiree Windsurfing Wave Classic in Inner Hebridean Island, Scotland. "Severe gales and a lower atmosphere full of ‘heavy precipitation’ certainly gave the Starlink a solid test. Pushing our Micro OB equipment to the max with gale force winds pushing rain, sand and saltwater through all our gear! Using our stabilized heads as remote cams means operators can sit in the warmth on the end of a VPN whilst the heads deliver smooth tracking shots."

- Per Starlink, "Starlink Direct to Cell works with existing LTE phones wherever you can see the sky. No special apps or hardware are required."

- FSET has been awarded a role in the new Ontario Satellite Internet (ONSAT) program. In partnership with Starlink and Maawandoon, this initiative will bring high-speed satellite internet to 15,000 homes and businesses in rural, remote, and northern communities across Ontario, starting in June 2025.

■ xAI:

- Per xAI's ibab (@ibab), "Example of why xAI is a truly special place to work at: Recently Elon took the time to hear 5 min presentations from everyone at the company about what they are working on, with everyone going into as much technical detail as possible. He gave feedback to every single team member on what they are doing and how to help make Grok better. Elon spent 18 hours total with the team on this. No other leader cares so much about making their team successful, and the results speak for themselves."

- Per xAI's Ebby Amir (@ebbyamir), "Working with Elon is a singular experience that has no comparison. He will align everyone in the company to doing their best work and ship excellent products. Grateful to learn from his leadership."

- You can now upload pdfs to Grok.

- Per xAI's Yaroslav (@512x512), Grok now has "Focus Mode" that lets you remove all the surrounding tabs and go fullscreen. Available on web.

- Per Swak (@swak_12), xAI is working on a new landing/welcome page animations for Grok.

- Grok now knows your name, handle, and location.

■ ELON NEWS:

- Elon heard MSNBC was going up for sell and has asked "How much?" and then posted the above meme with "And lead us not into temptation..." Naturally it went viral and speculations flew. Is MSNBC really in play? I'm thinking no. X is the news now.

- On Friday, US District Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley declined to sanction Elon for skipping a meeting with the US Securities and Exchange Commission due to the Polaris Dawn Crew Dragon launch. Corley said there was no need to sanction him because he already agreed to reimburse the SEC the $2,923 to cover airfare to Los Angeles for the trio of SEC lawyers in September. Elon eventually met with the SEC lawyers and gave testimony on the 3rd of October.

- Ad Astra (@adastra) Montessori school in Bastrop County has been given its permit to begin teaching. The school's curriculum is focused on STEM-based education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) for children between the ages of 3 and 9. It is the second of many schools Elon plans to open for students from K-through-12. He also plans a college, the Foundation.
