- On Ford's Q4 earnings call, CEO Jim Farley stated the company is deciding whether to partner with another company on full self-driving. "We're not so pollyannish about our own capability that we're not going to look at other people's system or not believe that Level 4 personal autonomy is going to be interesting at some point. We need a strong strategy team to decide, do we partner? I'm very confident in Sami and Doug and their technical prowess. They know the FSD system." Possible colab with Tesla here.

■ NEURALINK:
- Neuralink posted a new blog titled "A Year of Telepathy". It focuses on the achievements and challenges since the first implant in Noland Arbaugh (@ModdedQuad). The post also introduces Alex, who uses the implant to play video games like Counter-Strike 2 and design 3D objects, and Brad, who used the Link to watch his son win a regional robotics competition, chat with neighbors at the park, and give a talk with a live Q&A session to the youth at his local church. Neuralink's goals include improving the bit rate, expanding device functionality beyond basic cursor control to include text entry, while addressing regulatory, manufacturing, and safety concerns like potential brain inflammation or signal degradation. Pics are of Alex and Brad. Blog linkin the sources section.
Per Noland, "This is an amazing technology that will change more lives than 3. I think I speak for each of us when I say thank you to Neuralink, DJ Seo, Elon, and all the amazing people who have worked on this project or contributed in some way. And pay no mind how much I use the device."

- "In light of our 1 year Telepathy milestone, here’s a video of me and the very talented team of engineers moments before we publicly announced that the PRIME Study was open to recruitment . Sept 19 2023. I’m so excited for the year ahead and the work that we are doing

- SpaceX is preparing to launch Starlink in Pakistan by early June. According to officials, 90% of the registration process is complete. SpaceX must complete its registration with the Pakistan Space Regulatory Board (PSRB), and then the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will issue the necessary license.

■ X:
- X CEO Linda Yaccarino (@lindayaX) received the Samizdat Prize from RealClearPolitics (@RCPolitics). The Samizdat Prize is an award recognizing efforts in preserving free speech. Per Linda, "I'm honored to have received the Samizdat Prize on behalf of everyone here at X, alongside Jonathan Turley and Abigail Shrier... Our commitment to preserving free speech around the world will never waver."
- AJ (@alojoh) puts things into perspective nicely here. Per AJ, "Elon really knows how to turn around and run a business. Despite the revenue hit from the anti-X campaign Elon's measures vastly improved cash flow (EBITDA is a proxy for cash flow). I am not surprised that investors were keen on buying X's debt held by some banks. Nice yield. These buyers not only get the coupon but likely get back the par value (they bought at discount) or sell the debt later on as it trades up." This data is based on a post by Elon. ■ xAI:
- Palantir (@PalantirTech) announced the integration of Grok into their Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP). This is a big and significant partnership for xAI. It extends their capabilities to enterprise use. And with Palantir's history in intelligence augmentation, Grok will only enhance it. This integration is effective today, the 6th of February. I would expect to see Palantir's AIP use Grok in sectors like defense, healthcare, and finance. I'm interested to see how much Grok will accelerate things for them.
- Per Memphis, Light, Gas, and Water (@MLGW), "President McGowen understands concerns with xAI projects. Yesterday Council heard the presentation for a grey water plant. We share the desire to reduce the amount of drinking water used for coolant." They also commented on concerns that xAI was not paying their bills. "In terms of payments, XAI is treated like every other customer when it comes to their utility bill. If they do not pay they will be cut off. They have paid in full and we collected late fees."
■ DOGE:
- DOGE and NASA leadership have verified that $500k in Politico subscriptions have been canceled.
■ ELON NEWS:
- Tennessee state Sen. Jeff Yarbro (D-Nashville) and state Rep. Jason Powell (D-Nashville) have introduced the Shielding Tennesseans from Oligarchic Power & Eliminating Lawless Obstruction of Necessities Act or... The STOP ELON Act. So this bill would create criminal penalties and a private right of civil action against any individual who obstructs or denies access to federal, state, or local government benefits, including Social Security payments, Medicare benefits, grants, and other financial distributions.
Per Yarbro, "If Elon Musk illegally hurts Tennesseans, he should go to jail regardless of being a trillionaire or whatever and regardless of whether he’s got a permission slip from the president. Whether through malice or incompetence, if he unlawfully blocks our citizens from getting their Social Security checks or reimbursement from Medicaid or Medicare, his vast wealth should be on the table to compensate the people who get hurt."
Per Powell, "Tennesseans who work hard and play by the rules should never have to worry about a billionaire meddling in their financial security. People like Elon Musk need to understand that they are not invincible and the STOP ELON Act makes it crystal clear — no one is above the law. If you interfere with a person’s rightful benefits, you will be held accountable."
The reply from House Majority Leader Rep. William Lamberth (R-Portland) was reposting Elon's meme above.
- A vandal defaced the mural in Brownsville of Elon by writing "deny, defend, depose" across his face. This is same phrase found etched on the bullet casings used in the murder of UnitedHealth Care CEO Brian Thompson by Luigi Mangione. The mural is roughly 24 miles west of Starbase, Texas... Yesterday, the mural's artist, Alexandro Gonzalez-Hernandez painted over the words and added a name tag saying "Hello, my name is Luigi M". He claims Elon personally requested that he add the "Luigi" name tag after the vandalism. Per Alexandro, "Elon Musk called me (wonderful people) he told me to add 'Hello, my name is Luigi M.’ He loved the mural."
Stay safe everyone.
