■ TESLA $TSLA ($378.17, -3.58%):
Cyber Bros...
- Yesterday, Washington's Senate Labor & Commerce Committee conducted its first public hearing on two bills affecting electric vehicle manufacturers like Tesla. The first bill, SB 5377, which seeks to end direct-to-consumer sales for Tesla, received 886 responses in favor and 324 against. Conversely, SB 5592, aimed at expanding direct sales beyond just Tesla, saw 175 responses in favor and a significant 1,431 against. The testimony from dealers suggested that these bills could potentially undermine the dealership model, despite the bills' intent to broaden consumer purchasing options.
- On the flipside, South Carolina is moving towards allowing direct-to-consumer sales of EV through the proposed South Carolina Consumer Freedom Act, which is supported by a bipartisan group and Governor Henry McMaster. This would enable manufacturers like Tesla to bypass traditional dealership models, potentially reducing costs and increasing EV accessibility in the state.
- This is a Tesla Solar Range-Extending Trailer prototype by Marks Engineers of San Jose, California. It includes a deployable solar array that generates up to 2.7 kW, extending EV range by 30–50 miles/day. It has active and passive cooling. Starlink IoT system enabling real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and remote optimization. I don't know how practical this is, but cool nonetheless.
- Per Elon, "The Tesla Optimus hand is so sophisticated that it makes a Fabergé seem simple. And it gives you a whole new appreciation for how incredible the human hand is."
- To celebrate the arrival of the Powerwall 3 in Portugal, Tesla held an event at the showroom in Leiria.
- Checkout John's (@teslaownersSV) new interview with Tesla Engineers breaking down the new Model Y inside and out..
- Mercedes EV owners can now use Tesla Supercharger across the U.S. Access in Canada coming later this year.
- According to the Shanghai Securities News, on the 11th of February, Tesla China will hold a morning production event at the Shanghai Megafactory. Production will ramp up in the first quarter of this year.
- The Universal Technical Institute in Long Beach expanded its Manufacturer Specific Advanced Training (MSAT) offerings with the inclusion of the Tesla START Collision Repair program. It is slated to begin in Spring of this year. The program is designed to equip graduates of UTI's Collision Repair and Refinish Technology program who meet Tesla's criteria and are selected as interns with specialized skills for careers at Tesla.
- Tesla China announced a grant of 8,000 yuan for the Model 3, which can be combined with a five-year interest-free promotion.
- Yes, the image of the legacy Model Y has been removed from many Tesla Asian webpages, but it is still available for purchase in the inventory.
- The Model 3 was Singapore’s best-selling sedan in 2024.
- Tesla Semi walk around by TikoTok u/juniorpharm (Junior Pharm).
- Tesla sales in France decreased by 63%. In the UK they are down 12%. Germany's KBA website shows the number of newly registered Teslas fell 60% to only 1,277 in January. The overall German market was only down 2.8%. Ouch!
- The Tesla Showroom in The Hague, Netherlands, has been vandalized with swastikas and anti-Nazi slogans. The vandals have not been identified.

- Today, Germany's Atmos Space Cargo announced that their first Phoenix reentry capsule will fly on SpaceX's Bandwagon 3 rideshare mission in April. Per Sebastian Klaus, Atmos CEO and Co-founder, "Our first test flight is what the team at Atmos has been working towards relentlessly. I am proud to lead this mission at such a crucial moment for Europe. Our space industry needs disruptive innovation to compete on a global scale." Phoenix is engineered to transport materials back to Earth, offering a secure return journey for various high-value products manufactured in orbit. Atmos identifies a significant demand for this service, especially within the biomedical industry.

■ THE BORING COMPANY:
- Jackie Siegel (@JackieSiegelusa), wife of David Alan Siegel, founder of Westgate Resorts, ventures into the new Vegas LOOP Westgate Station.
- TomNTex (@TomNTex1) and Tom Gielen (@TomGielen) shared a new schematic on the Boring Company's second Vegas Loop tunnel near the Encore, highlighting its location adjacent to the Silver Lot south shaft, which eliminates the need to uncover the shaft's roof. The tunnel in the Bronze Lot will initially be non-operational, featuring a connector shaft at the end where the TBM is located, rather than a station. This setup likely facilitates a future connection to the University Drive tunnel linking LVCC South station to the UNLV station.
- With the Cybertunnel completed at Giga Texas we are gonna be hard pressed to find Boring news. We take what we can get, so if you find anything send it my way.

- Banks led by Morgan Stanley have sold $5.5 billion in loans connected to X. The loans were sold at 97 cents on the dollar. This reflects a turnaround from the difficulties banks faced in offloading this debt after Elon's acquisition. - Yesterday in Washington DC, Elon met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Son, Yair Netanyahu.
- Elon is scheduled to meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in approximately one week. The agenda for their meeting includes discussions on Tesla's and Starlink's potential expansion into India and collaboration opportunities with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), possibly looking into technological partnerships or joint ventures that could benefit both entities in their respective fields.
- Attorneys for Elon have filed in the U.S. District Court Central District of California, Western Division, to dismiss claims from the lawsuit accusing him of copyright-infringement by using the AI generated images at the We Robot event. These are the images Alcon Entertainment say are "Blade Runner"-inspired. The motion was submitted to dismiss "all claims" against both Elon and Tesla with prejudice, meaning the case would be permanently dismissed and could not be refiled. Alcon plans to oppose this motion.
- U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers said yesterday "Something is going to trial in this case. It’s a battle of billionaires versus billionaires." This is in reference to Elon's lawsuit against OpenAI to halt its conversion to a for-profit entity might go to trial, adding that Elon will have to appear in court and testify. No date has been set.
- Elon posted that he plans to test Starlink streaming again late tonight. Keep an eye out.
