"KILL the BILL..." - Elon Musk (@elonmusk)

■ TESLA $TSLA ($332.05, -3.55%):

- The lobby of Tesla's Giga Shanghai is pretty sick! Pic by Luke Cove, Managing Director at Lightning Energy.

- Tesla China insured 13,000 new vehicles in the last week of May. That puts May at approximately 38,200 vehicles registered.

- The EU, led by trade czar Maroš Šefčovič and German Economy Minister Katharina Reiche, is proposing to relax its strict self-driving car regulations to counter President Trump's threatened 25% tariffs on EU vehicle imports. This could potentially bypass the UNECE's Level 3 automation framework approved in 2020 to allow faster adoption of Full Self-Driving (FSD) in Europe. H/T Kees Roelandschap (@KRoelandschap).

- Lomond Drones captured aerial footage of the 49.9MW / 99.8MWh Pitkevy Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near Leslie, Fife, Scotland. This site was developed by TagEnergy using 27 Megapack 2 XLs.

- The Tesla Megapack account (@Tesla_Megapack) posted an article that details and breaks down grid-forming inverters. These devices stabilize power grids as renewable sources like solar and wind replace fossil fuel generators. They mimic the ability of traditional generators to regulate voltage and frequency during disturbances. Grid-forming inverters provide sub-cycle responses to voltage drops and support fault currents without destabilizing the grid. They also offer blackstart capability, which allows grid restoration after outages without external power. The WEMAG battery plant demonstrated this in 2017. Additionally, the post debunks myths about phase-locked loops (PLLs) in weak grids. It notes that modern PLLs function effectively with grid-forming inverters. This supports the transition to renewable-heavy grids. Article link in the sources section.

- Mainline Crane Rental, partnering with TRAFFIX, used a 350-ton crane to load 89 Megapacks for a large-scale energy storage project. "This time-lapse captures just a glimpse of the precision, coordination, and heavy lifting required to get the job done safely and efficiently. Proud of the teamwork that made it happen and excited to be part of the clean energy movement."

- Tesla plans to help power the new Shanghai Megafactory with a 6 MW rooftop solar system and an 8 MWh Megapack energy storage unit. The project is being developed by Lingang Green Innovation Co., a subsidiary of the Shanghai Lingang Economic Development Group. It is expected to be completed by years end. H/T Drive Tesla Canada (@DriveTeslaca).

- Model Y has been awarded the title of Technological Car of the Year 2025 in a competition organized by Wirtualna Polska, a Poland-based media group. The competition included the testing of the 39 cars. The award was accepted by Tesla's Anna Glapa. Per Anna, "This recognition confirms the innovation and technological advancement of this model, highlighting its significance in the automotive market."

- Tesla deliveries for ERA Châtelain, a real estate group out of Ixelles, Brussels, took delivery of 4 branded Model 3s. Per Tesla Account Manager Benoit Van Bellingen, "A big thank you to ERA Châtelain for their trust! It is always a pleasure to support our customers in the transition to cleaner and innovative mobility. These deliveries from Tesla mark a new milestone in our collaboration and demonstrate their commitment to a more sustainable fleet."

- Kimberley Harrell, Dean of Applied Technology at Truckee Meadows Community College in Nevada, announced that TMCC and Tesla celebrated 61 apprentices who completed the Manufacturing Development Program. Student speaker Araceli highlighted the program's impact on her career. Per Kimberly, "Can you feel the lithium loop leaping into high gear to accelerate electrification of the United States? Yes!"

■ SPACEX:

- Last night Starship 37 left Massey's after it's cryo-testing campaign and was placed into Mega Bay 2. Wonderful shot by Carlos (@cnunezimages) of Ship under the Moon. Screenshot in Mega Bay 2 by Lab Padre (@labpadre).

- As soon as Ship was stowed, Super Heavy Booster 16 left Mega Bay 1 and rolled to the Launch Complex. This morning it was lifted and placed on the OLM. Static Fire campaign incoming!

- According to Niall-Ian Anderson (@INiallAnderson), Booster 18.1 (Test Tank 17) was cryo-tested for 27hours straight!

- Victoria Sanchez and Sergio Lara, SpaceX's Spaceport Experience Leads at Starbase, along with the Team, joined the City of Brownsville for Space Fest last week. They had an inspiring evening celebrating aerospace, STEM, and the local community. Per Sergio, "Space Fest 2025 in Downtown Brownsville was 🔥!"

Per Victoria, "We set up an interactive booth, passed out over 4,000 swag items, sponsored a photobooth, and brought out some of our crowd-favorite inflatables. It was amazing to see our local community come together to dream big about the future. We appreciate the opportunity to engage and look forward to future collaboration that continues to build connection and awareness across the broader RGV. To Mars!"

■ NEURALINK:

-- We knew ARK Invest and Cathie Wood (@ ) got in on the latest Neuralink Funding round, but we didn't know what fund would hold the shares. Thanks to my subscriber Jeffrey Lind (@JeffreyLind2), we do. Neuralink is now the 2nd largest holding in the ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) at 7.59%, directly behind SpaceX's 13.25%. I have posted before that this fund is available to the public and takes an initial $500 investment. If you would like to take part in this fund, click the referral link in the sources section to get started.

■ STARLINK:

- Per SpaceX President & COO Gwynne Shotwell (@Gwynne_Shotwell) after the announcement of the new Starlink V4 Performance kit, "SpaceX has the best employees in the world who design, build and operate the most advance rockets, spacecraft, Starlink satellites and kits, all of which are made right here in the USA!"

Per SpaceX VP of Falcon & Dragon, Jon Edwards (@edwards345), "I can confirm, the V4HP is bad ass. I was lucky enough to get a beta unit installed and this dish is amazing. Consistently getting >400 Mbps, even though I have large oak trees on my property that obstruct a small amount of the sky. Likely due to a few factors including the high scan angle the V4HP dish provides as well as the rapidly growing Starlink constellation, due to our record breaking Falcon launch rate."

■ ELON NEWS:

- Per Elon, "Interest payments already consume 25% of all government revenue. If the massive deficit spending continues, there will only be money for interest payments and nothing else! No social security, no medical, no defense … nothing.

Call your Senator. Call your Congressman. Bankrupting America is NOT ok! KILL the BILL..."
