Personal Update (a very happy one!) (Patreon)

It’s been a pretty eventful year since my last life-update journal over on Furaffinity, and I’m very happy to say that at least one of those developments had a very good ending. I’m now married to the most wonderful Wolfie in the world (no shade to any other wolfies reading this).

I ended that last journal by mentioning that a longtime friendship had turned into something unexpected. There’s something kind of amazing about discovering how deep a friendship runs, especially when it happens during a real low point in your life. It has dreamlike qualities. I wasn’t looking for anyone at the time, but all the pieces kept clicking into place. By Christmas I knew where my heart was, and on June 26 I married DeltaRedWolf. At the risk of being a little trite, I can genuinely say it was the happiest day of my life :)

The artwork is for a wedding invitation I drew up (if you didn't get one, uhh... be assured it was a very small mostly-family gathering). There were some hopes of making our own linocut prints of the design, but that was a whole project and we ended up not having the time :P

The last year has been a pretty plot-heavy one for your old fox, but it’s put me in a much better place overall. When my job at the lab ended, it gave me a rare opportunity to think about what the next step was -- and in a more existential way, what I really want my life to look like. I got to work making a viable career out of my artwork, not really knowing where it would take me, and that has given me a sense of purpose and direction the academic job hadn’t in a long fucking time.

So now we’ve got this home to make together, which is exactly where I want to be. A couple of mostly-very-well-behaved pets have joined the family! And the naked furry pics get to stay on the walls, which is cool but also kind of a prerequisite for the whole matrimony thing. In-laws be damned.
