Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! We are hard at work on Cobalt Empire #2. Announcements for the title, blurb, MCs won't happen until later this year. But you can expect some pretty big reveals as we'll also be announcing the pub date for Cobalt Empire #3 at the same time.

We're gearing up to go to Australia for RARE Melbourne, so our next few Fizz Hangouts will be more brief in this recap area as most of our recap will be traveling.

Right now, we're super busy with all things Book 2. Drafting, plotting, making sure the cover is finalized -- all that good stuff! We might have more detailed updates for you in the monthly podcast coming up (because we love to gab!), so be sure to check that one out.

I’d take Beckett out because I’d have a more enjoyable time socialising with him, but… I think my taste in food would probably align better with Charlie’s. I would go to dinner with Beckett!! I’d definitely love to talk all about ballet! Becca, I saw on last week’s Fizz Hangout that you said you’re finally starting season 2 of Interview with a Vampire. Have you started it yet?? I’m so excited to get your thoughts on it! I am very eagerly awaiting the third season. Also, I finally watched Thunderbolts and it’s sooooo good!!! Definitely one of my favorite post endgame marvel movies! It was funny because I watched it with my sister and my dad, who like marvel but aren’t caught up on everything. My dad actually hasn’t even seen endgame, so we accidentally spoiled a lot because he was like “where are the avengers”😂 but despite being very behind on marvel movies, he still really enjoyed it bc it’s great action and comedy lol. The movie was so funny and I love all of the characters together. I do really like ensemble casts, and I don’t think there’s been a movie with that in a while (besides Eternals which I did not think was good😂 it is unfortunately rated pretty low in my marvel movie rankings). And I haven’t seen Fantastic 4 yet, but I’m sure I’ll love it for the same reason of it being more of an ensemble cast and it also seems so good from the previews! I got a little behind on marvel movies/shows bc I lost my marvel movie watching buddy (she lives far away from me now) but I’m trying to catch up and stay current because I really do love them so much!

I’m **so excited** for the CE #2 announcements! *cue me grabbing a time machine so that we can get there faster (lol)* Similar to Julia’s comment in this thread - I was wondering if there’s anything that you’re reading, watching, or listening to that you’d recommend? 👀 It’s been a little while since the last Happenings post (there’s absolutely no pressure to post another one, I know how busy you’ve both been and are 🤎) I just love seeing all of your recommendations, so I figured I’d ask! :) I gave up on the current season of “Big Brother” a long time ago, and I fell so behind on “The Challenge” that I’m waiting until this season is completed to watch it all. I’m excited for the upcoming season of “The Amazing Race”, though! I’m watching “The Runarounds” on Prime right now, and am contemplating rewatching “Olympo” (🏊‍♀️)! When it comes to music, I’ve been listening to “Parachute” by Hayley Williams a ton (her new album is *chef’s kiss*)! I’ve been getting a band called “BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT” recommended a lot to me recently, so I’ve been listening to some of their stuff as well! Two of their members looked familiar to me, and I couldn’t for the life of me figured out where I knew them from. Turns out, the lead singer + drummer used to be in a band with Paul from BB 18 + BB 19 (it’s a small world lol). “The Only Hope for Me Is You” by MCR has also been on loop! I also loved the Sabrina inclusion on your recent-ish IG post! I adored her VMAs performance. ✨✨ —— I hope you both have an incredible time in Australia! Safe travels! 🤎🤎

We both watched Foundation on Apple TV, and absolutely LOVED and DEVOURED it! It's amazing!! By episode three, it really hooks you in. I also started the Alien show on Hulu, and Krista just finished it and said it was amazing. I love it so far! We're actually planning to do a Happenings at the beginning of October, so there'll be another one on the way soon! We have a lot more recommendations since we've managed to consume more stuff between our deadlines. We BOTH gave up on this season of Big Brother. Might have been one of the worst ones we've seen in a while. Just not a lot of people to root for. This season of The Challenge, I've also fallen behind on. I'm really sad that the format was partner switches. I was really hoping it'd be more like WOTW (my all-time fav season). I just finished The Runarounds on Prime! I really enjoyed it for what it was. I think the last few episodes were some of my favorite. I had to suspend my disbelief a bit bc it got a little unrealistic at times, but I think it's enjoyable knowing it's almost like a coming-of-age adventure. I'll have to listen to Parachute! I haven't listened to a ton of Hayley Williams, but I keep finding new songs from her I love.

I'm saving Interview for the flight to Australia! I'm SO EXCITED!! Krista said it was amazing, so I can't wait to watch! "where are the avengers" lol 😂 That actually would make the movie so much more fun having someone ask those questions! Both Krista & I still haven't seen Fantastic Four. We both realized that there is just nothing about those characters that are appealing to us. It's so hard to get me to want to watch an FF movie. Now if it was X-Men... 😂😂

Oh that will be a great flight binge!!! I binged the whole two seasons in two weeks when I watched the show😂 it’s so good. I’m trying to hold off on a rewatch until it’s closer to season 3 release, bc I really don’t need to tease myself like that lol. It was actually so hilarious. He had pretty much no idea what was going on with the Marvel plot line but he was loving the movie😂 Yelena was his favorite he thought she was hilarious. And every time I would pause the movie to try to give some background, he just told me to play it and he’d figure it out. Then asked stuff like “where’s the avengers” and “is that a bad guy”.🤣 definitely a fun watching experience. Haha understandable. The trailer seemed pretty good, so I do want to watch it, but I’m definitely not as interested as I am in other marvel movies I’m waiting for since it also doesn’t seem to really tie into everything else. At least not right now. I admit, I am very big into all the marvel movies and tv shows and have seen almost all of them, but I have not read any comics (there’s so many so I get overwhelmed on where I would start), so I don’t have that background. Some of the upcoming (I think 2026) movies I’m excited for and then also holding out waiting for X-Men (seems like they’re getting there, right? Deadpool and Wolverine seemed like a step in that direction that.) I’m also finally going to watch Superman tonight! (Sorry Lo🤣).
