HANGOUT QUESTION: we love seeing your response to questions about the Like Us series, and it helps facilitate some awesome discussions! Each week, there'll be a new "hangout question" that you can answer in the comments, if you wish!

If you could teleport yourself into the Addicted/Like Us universe, would you rather be in the Addicted timeline and a part of the Core 6 group (as a sibling or love interest) OR would you rather be in the Like Us timeline as the child of one of the Core 6 couples?

Happy Friday, beauties! November is really flying by. Is next week Thanksgiving already?! We've been deep in our writing cave trying to work on projects, and it's been a lot of fun coming back on Patreon to check in with all of you. Patreon is this little happy bubble and in between Like Us releases, we love getting to see all of your excitement over the bonuses. It warms our hearts 💗

I want to say the Core 6! They’re around my age already (ish - I think Daisy is a year younger than me) I always imagine being friends with them and connecting with them. (And since years are referenced I sometimes pretend they already exist in our timeline somewhere in the world - sometime in July this year, Ryke was definitely walking around in Daisy’s leotard for baby Sulli and Xander is going to be born soon!)

I can’t choose!! Why have you given me two options that are totally fabulous in their own right!! You’ve killed me 😩 🔪💔 (…yes that could possibly be a tiny bit dramatic but to be honest non of that was exaggerated I just didn’t say it out loud. Duh, don’t need proof of me being an absolute nutter 😂) I’m not sure what I’d pick I think it would depend on the day which is irritating the heck out of me since I like to have clear definitive answers to things *dramatically puts hand to forehead* What inspired you to ask us that this week and what would you both pick? Everyone has challenges, but yall tortured the characters in the addicted series. You are much nicer to the characters in the like us series, they have challenges, but they all have a built in support system and people who love them. I would be there for the core 6 in the addicted series but I worry that then they wouldn't have found each other, and they are so good together. So for sure, part of the like us series, a part of that big supportive network.

When you think about it having a good family and great parents really is crucial in a child’s development. Since if we put all the little things aside that really is the only big differences between the addicted series and the like us series. I adore how k&b put such an emphasis on that because parents and familial bonds have an exceedingly large hand in who we become as people. Which the addicted characters didn’t have, and yeah they’re good now but what did it take? It took a family that they made to get them their. Which the like us characters didn’t have to forge, which is how it should be for a child. Love and a good home should never be a rarity and it saddens me a great deal that it is a rarity in our world today. So what k&b wrote isn’t them just “torturing” for a good plot/book (I’m not saying you were saying that!!! It’s just in general 💗) but most likely writing about something that has happened to real people in this world. Philosophical, maybe but that’s me. I hope I didn’t bore you! I too would also (sometimes) pick being in the like us series timeline but again depending on the day 😂 xxx

Would any of the family change their last name to Calloway? Maximoff and Farrow both took the last name Hale and the middle name Keene for their family, Jane and Thatcher are both Morettis, Sulli, Kits and Banks are all Meadows; would anyone become a Calloway?

Hi I just read this and realised who you were! The amazingly talented artist who designed the beautiful new like us covers!!! (I had a little fan girl moment☺️) I really like your thinking since I can relate :) ryke walking around in a leotard is a sight I’d kill for (and I don’t like blood so that’s saying something😂) anyways I know you don’t need me to say your amazing for you to think it but everyone deserves to be given compliments and what you do on insta and your art are out of this world good so THANK YOU for being lovely Haley!!! 💗

I agree with almost everything you said 🙂. I don't think that love and a good home is all that rare, and probably not that different from times in the past. We just get to hear about the darkness and abuse more nowadays. But I absoloutly agree that the family dynamics and relationships have a huge part of making people who they are and make the books interesting, really good reads and true to life. 😍🥰 Still think our amazing authors were torturing our wonderful characters 😉.

even though I’d love to be part of the core 6, I’d probably choose to be in the like us timeline just so I could be involved with all the families❤️❤️ (i cant choose just one)😭 id be a Maximoff type character so i could be involved with everyone and everything including SFO🫶🏼🤣🤣

This feels like picking which kid is your favorite!! Like you know you have one but couldn’t live without the other so you can’t choose out loud 😂 but um I think I’d have to choose to be a kid in the Like Us timeline because I adore Farrow and Donnelly and would love to live in the time with them and the rest of the HCM kids as a sibling/cousin… besides I’d still get my Core 6 fix so I wouldn’t be missing out on that life too 😉❤️

This was exactly my thinking. I love the core 6 but I also love the HCM kids so appearing in the Like Us timeline makes more sense because I would still see the Core 6 even though they are not necessarily the focus anymore. If I went into the Addicted timeline the HCM kids simply wouldn't be there anymore... Also I love Maximoff's interactions with Lo, Connor and Ryke so that would also be a win for me.

I think I’d have to say being part of the core 6, I’m constantly thinking about them or wanting to reread their books again 🫶🏼but then- being a kid and in the like us timeline, them as a parents and the kids would be your friends😍

I was wondering if there’s potentially any scenes (main or extra) coming up in Daisy’s pov? I know there’s like 2 for Ryke. I miss my Meadows all the time😭And if we’ll get more of them over time? I just miss the core 6 so much🥺

Because on one hand i'm like The Like Us timeline is amazing, the traditions each family has, the challenge they have to face & how many amazing people there are in that timeline. But i have always been a sucker for beginnings so core six it is🫡

We're definitely jumping between the Core 6 timeline and the Like Us series timeline lately, so both things have been on our minds! And omg it would be just as impossible for us to choose. The Addicted parents (Core 8) were able to give their children the things they didn't have growing up (unconditional love, support, etc.) and that has made the Like Us series lighter in tone. It makes us emotional to think about, because it's what the Core 6 were striving for when they were raising their kids 💗 It'd definitely be heartbreaking to have the Like Us series be just as angsty as the Addicted series, because the Core 8 wanted & wished for better for their kids.

It might be unlikely, considering a lot of the kids identify Samantha with the name Calloway. And they all have positive relationships with their parents and the names Cobalt, Meadows, and Hale.

Not *yet* but sometimes we write things that we don't plan for the month because inspiration strikes. So it could definitely happen ❤️ We've also recently written in her POV for one of the new print editions, so you'll see bonus with Daisy but it'll be in paperback form ☺️

It doesn’t matter as long as I have Rose as someone I could confide in and seek guidance from. So either one would be fine with me. Maybe more the Like Us though because I’m a force of nature like Rose and Ryke and would be able to help protect the little ones and the vulnerable ones. Plus I would love helping Ben and Nona get in trouble by saving animals. ❤️
