Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties! We've been super busy this week working on the beginning of Nobody Like Us and bonus scenes! The upcoming Main Bonus is set during *that* crucial twisty scene in Unlucky Like Us, so it's a big one!! We've also finally been able to solidify the exact dates for the Dishonestly Yours series (tentatively named at the moment, since the series name *might* change -- more on that in the future), but this means that we know the month when we'll be publishing Nobody Like Us, so you can expect Luna & Donnelly to return... 

JANUARY 2024 🎉

While it's not the fall, you won't have to wait a whole year like last time. Plus, it'll give us more time to ensure their last book is everything we want it to be and it's not rushed. We are WAY TOO excited!!!

💜 EVENT NEXT WEEKEND: August 19th, Bookstore Romance Day 2023, hosted by Reads & Company- Phoenixville, PA

Romance authors will be in attendance from 12-4 pm to sign books as readers come by, much like a festival-feel rather than a traditional author event. The street is shut down during the event, so it'll be super cool! Becca will be there to sign books and pass out bookplates with both of our signatures. (Krista can't make the event due to a prior obligation, but I am going to be there and channeling my twinnie's spirit! Hopefully some of you can make it out!)

💜 October 27th-29th, 2023, we'll be attending LoveNVegas in Las Vegas, NV.

💜 March 23rd, 2024, we'll be attending Sweetgrass Author Event in Charleston, South Carolina.

💜 October 2024, we'll be attending Authors in the Bluegrass in Lexington, Kentucky. Exact date is TBA, and tickets will go on sale January 2024.

We're hoping to have them as add-ons for the Like Us Series as well, and we'll keep you updated when new character note add-ons become available. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: if you order "Signatures Only" books they will NOT be personalized with your name, so keep that in mind when making your selections!

This is hard - but I LOVED seeing how Farrow’s character developed in ULU. So excited to see all the family bonds in NLU in January. While I’d love it sooner, I was honestly expecting a delay. I can’t imagine putting out a book near the lengths you’ve been writing in 2-3 months! Also, I spotted copies of Thrive at The Ripped Bodice in Brooklyn. Over 1000 people visited the store on its opening day! I’ve already been twice. Thankful it's not to far pushed back but iamy not going to get excited until the end of the year when you ladies know for sure. My favorite character from Unlucky was Farrow, this book felt like his to in many ways. When you guys do the all about Unlucky like us podcast i hope you put some info in there on the (new names introduced and how they were picked out) details of Donnelly family tree how you came up with it etc and if you have your own family tree for them lol 😄 I hope one day you ladies cam do a live video on instagram or something where we can ask questions while LIVE😁

I totally understand why you would want the extra time for NLU, a little sad to wait but so so excited for January! My favourite in ULU outside of Luna and Donnelly of course, was Farrow. I loved how much he really acknowledged what Donnelly meant to him and was there for him. Especially seeing Donnelly’s pattern of hyper independence and feeling like he doesn’t belong with the people he loves.

I loved reading about Lily in this book! I had so many moments where I was reading what she was doing and how she was being a mom and it made me emotional (in a good way) that if Lily in the addicted universe knew how far along she’d come as a mom and a person she wouldn’t believe it. Her growth just felt really evident so I loved seeing that!

Obviously I love Luna and Donnelly, but the scenes with Donnelly’s dad were also really special. Knowing how messed up Donnelly’s family has been, I’m here for a good father redemption arc. His dad came through for him when Donnelly needed him most, so I’m hoping their relationship continues to go in the right direction. Donnelly deserves it ❤️

Oh my gosh - this is such exciting news!! 🤩 I will now be receiving **two** of my most anticipated releases (NLU & HOFAS) in January and I am so excited for all of the emotions that I will be experiencing that month (I don’t think that I’ll be able to sleep out of pure excitement and FOMEFT 😭). •• Regarding the hangout question - I really loved all of Farrow moments in ULU! I also loved getting to see a more emotional side of Tom + Eliot during some of their scenes with Luna (the scene where Tom tries to search for the “peanut butter scones” punched me right in the heart 😭). I also enjoyed Phoenix’s official introduction! The “he told me to beg him, and he’d consider it” line was incredible & I would devour a bonus scene of that call between Tom + Phoenix in the future (once we reach the CE era and start getting the Cobalt Brothers’ POVs)! 🥹🤎

Farrow was my favorite side character in this one. Farrows isn’t my favorite Like Us character but I love to see him through Luna and Donnelly’s eyes. I loved Farrow defending Donnelly to Lo. Super excited for NLU. It is something to look forward to after Christmas! I’m just not ready to say “bye” to Luna and Donnelly. They have been my favorites beside Lily and Lo.

Personal updates- I have been extremely AFK from out safe community because i just officiated FINALLY my masters in law and my licence to practice and just two days ago my UK residency finally came through! I TOLD YALL THAT THIS YEAR ARIES DOMINATE hehehe ;).

Unlucky Like Us wise- On top of that i have been slowly pacing myself and going through Unlucky Like Us! :') I should be around the 80% mark now. The first half of the book i am soooooo anxious and am on the edge of my seat the entire time and i think their sex scene in the first half of the book is legendary. Like up there in one of the hottest of all times in the KBR LORE! But in the later half of the book my heart YEARNS for them to be together :O I am distraught and frustrated! :') I think that's maybe why i am reading so slow because it HURTS! Why r yall so talented?! Poor Lunalley babies! It feels like they are always blueballed from really taking one minute to just pause enjoy each other even if in secret! They are imo, the relationship embodiment of the famous Michelangelo painting of the hands that almost but do not touch, called, "The Creation of Adam". Ok i need to settle down, sorry okay i didn't mean for this to become a therapy session hahaha! Yall always make me feel so much! It is very reminiscent of the days of Ryke and Daisy i feel! Except I think Ryke and Daisy had less familial politics standing in the way? What do you think?

Book wise- I have been laterally from Unlucky reading Brandon Sanderson novels that just are making me into such a Cosmere nerd I am OBSESSED. It is probably the fandom that I feel like pays you off so well and is so unbelievably healthy! I cannot recommend enough both their books and the cosmere fandom. I never thought i could have a fandom like the one you guys created in another community. He as well does weekly podcasts, writers updates with percentages on YT, is active under the reddit and also does meme reactions every so often! Like its giving you guys' no? :P So yeah, the Cosmere is absolutely brilliant. And I just know you guys would love it. And his writing is insane! As a gift to myself for passing the bar, I ordered secret project #3 from his online bookstore, which is suppose to be a standalone romance/fantasy story between painters inspired by Asian folklore, but is and ties with easter eggs to the Cosmere still. It's suppose to be beautifully leather bound artistanly and so elite and beautiful, very visually satsifying (i feel unworthy holding it in my hand). Maybe I might also gift myself finally that bloody IPad (mini? maybe? what do you think) to read comics on which you guys highly recommended 2-3 months ago? But yeah, as I am not back in the UK yet, I did JUST manage to receive by email Misfits like us signed has been delivered (thank you thank you x) and only now do i see you guys are stocking for Unlucky to be signed but if i didn't order Secret Project #3 I would have gotten Unlucky maybe instead of Secret Project #3! Damn! My heart strings are being pulled two different ways! Anyway TL;DR I cannot recommend the cosmere enough! :')

I guess I’ll just have to read Fourth Wing as well so that I have one for fall! Plus all of the holiday releases (I still have a bunch I didn’t read from last year). Shereadsromancebooks.com also has a great list of fall releases that has me excited to start some other series as well. & at least 2 books in January will help me get over my inevitable Hallmark movie hangover.

Hey Teresa! Yes he’s an awesome and just great guy as well. So he’s very easy to follow and enjoy podcast and personality wise. Aside from having amazing novels! The general consensus and entry point is the Mistborn Trilogy (also known as Mistborn Era 1) and while it is considered YA, it’s really not imo. It’s very adult. It feels wrong **not** picking Luna and Donnelly, so I’m just going to mentally remove them as options 🙈. Tom, Eliot, and all the Cobalt brothers really stood out to me !!! I’ve completely finished Unlucky and the surprise drop for character notes made me jump 👻🩷

Ahhh we can't wait to see you, Samantha!! We don't have a limit, but if the line is long, we might have to set one during the signing. It really just depends on the line at the time. What *might* happen is if you have more than 10 items for us to sign, we'll sign the first batch and then you'll have to get into the back of the line for us to sign your next set of items. That's what we've had to do at the last couple of signing, so that's very likely what might happen if you have a big stack of things! But we are SO HAPPY to sign everything you have!! Ohhh they really are like that painting! Krista found the teaser graphic that sort of mirrors that but with the tattoo needle and it was *so* them! I think Ryke & Daisy had more family (inside forces) standing in their way than these larger outside forces like the Donnellys (and then the twist). Ryke's loyalty to Lo and also internal guilt towards not being there for his brother sooner really drove Ryke to not act on his feelings. But I think they also have similar slow burn progressions, which is also why they remind me of Raisy too! ~ B

My husband just rewatched the Hobbit movies, but they're not my favorite so I could barely last through them. I loveeeee rewatching the LotR trilogy though, and I've recently seen the third one (extended edition). Krista & I watched Center Stage and Some Kind of Wonderful over again the day before the release of Unlucky Like Us, and it got me all nostalgic so I started rewatching One Tree Hill and listening to the podcast the actresses started doing a couple years ago. They go episode by episode and talk about behind-the-scenes stuff. It's amazing!! It's making the rewatch 100x better and more fun. I still need to finish my Battlestar Galactica rewatch.
