Extras: Cellphone Snooping - Hale Edition (Patreon)

We are snooping through characters' cellphones today! Specifically the Hales. What are their most used apps, their background photos, their favorite social media, and do they have a pop socket or a special kind of case? 

We're bringing you these super fun details all in one dazzling Cellphone Snooping post. Beware of tiny Nobody Like Us spoilers ahead. Proceed with caution!

MAXIMOFF HALE

💚 Type of Phone: We all know Moffy is someone who doesn't particularly need the latest and greatest gadgets or things. He doesn't often splurge (unless it's for practical reasons). Therefore, he won't always have the newest iPhone. He's not running out to upgrade. 

His phone case is utilitarian -- meaning it's very functional and can withstand being dropped. The case also has a string attached in the event that he needs to wrap it around his wrist so he won't drop it in the water. (Example: if he's on a hike and needs to cross a log, etc.) 

His phone case is often some dark shade of green. But if we are talking the early Damaged Like Us timeline, it's likely his phone case is red. 

💚 Most Used Apps: Instagram, Spotify, Mail, Netflix, DC Universe Infinite 

💚 Favorite Random App: AllTrails 

💚 Favorite Social Media App: Instagram (he particularly uses IG stories and IG lives quite a bit)

💚 Favorite App Game: Tetris or Spider Solitaire

💚 Home & Lock-Screen Photos: He changes these regularly, and in the current timeline, he'd have pictures of his children on his lock-screen, and he'd occasionally have a photo of Farrow on his home screen, at the risk of Farrow teasing him about it. Before getting with Farrow and having kids, he would've rotated between nature photos (taken from trips & traveling) and pics of him with his siblings and cousins. 

💚 Group Chats (the most frequented): Moffy is in many different group chats, like most of the family. The most interactive ones are as follows. 

Hale Siblings (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney). The group name is Go Go Power Rangers. 

Hale Family (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney, Lily and Lo). The group name is Hale Fam Jam. 

Jane, Thatcher, Maximoff, and Farrow. The group name is Seasons.

Jane made the group name for the chat. For a while it had been unnamed. She'll change the group icon every time the seasons change. For the winter, it's usually a snowman or snowflake. 

Uncles + Dad (Ryke, Connor, Loren, and Maximoff). It has no group name. 

The Oldest Five (Jane, Maximoff, Charlie, Beckett, Sullivan). This name has changed throughout the years. At one point, they named the group FanCon while they were all on tour together. And currently it's A-Squad. The Ouija Board & Roommates bonus scene is when Maximoff really first hears that Luna calls the oldest five the A-Squad. It's during the Charming Like Us timeline. 

The Roommates (Jane, Thatcher, Maximoff, Farrow, Akara, Banks, Sullivan, Luna, and the newer addition of Donnelly). This group name is Fucking Roomies, named and created by Sullivan Minnie Meadows. It has changed recently to Fucking Ex-Roomies. 

Rainbow Brigade (Oscar, Jack, Farrow, Maximoff, Tom, Kinney). The group name is Rainbow Brigade.

The Entire Family (Hales, Meadows, Cobalts, Abbeys). The group name is simply Family. It's most used during big family events and news.

Maximoff does not typically turn off group chat notifications. Unless he's in an important meeting or needs his phone to be silent, he'll keep them on. 

💚 Organization: He has his apps organized into sub-folders by utility/function. His first page is his most frequented apps, so those ones are easily accessible. 

💚 Most Called: Jane, Xander, and his parents. He's usually with Farrow, so he wouldn't be someone he'd need to call often. He's stated in the books that he tries to call his siblings every day. 

💚 Prefers to Call or FaceTime: FaceTime. 

💚 Most Texted: Siblings, Sulli, and Farrow. He texts Farrow quite a bit more during the Alphas Like Us timeline when they're separated more often. 

💚 #1 Emergency Contact: Farrow

💚 Alarms: He has specific alarms for the morning and some are reminders for certain meetings or tasks he has to do for work. He'll try to delete alarms he no longer uses, so it's not cluttered or too long of a list. 

💚 Social Media Usage: He has a public Instagram where he shares photos of his private-personal life with the public. He'll record IG stories when he just woke up in bed, and he'll talk about Farrow. He's very casual about sharing some pieces of his life with the public, and he doesn't try to curate his IG to have a specific aesthetic. He just posts whatever is going on with his life and events that he attends.

LUNA HALE

✨ Type of Phone: Luna has the latest & greatest iPhone, as you've seen in her last novel in Nobody Like Us. She often pairs her phone with a sparkly case. She loves any kind of glitter or star-like case, but she's also not very picky about leaving the case exactly as is. She has been known to add stickers and a pop socket to her case. 

✨ Most Used Apps: Fanaticon, Fictitious, TikTok, Marvel Unlimited, WebToon, Disney+, Daily Horoscope 

✨ Favorite Random App: TV Time (it tracks her currently watched shows)

✨ Favorite Social Media App: Fanaticon

✨ Favorite App Game: Color By Number

✨ Home & Lock-Screen Photos: She changes these regularly, and you've seen her save a flirty photo of her and Donnelly as her home screen (and then proceed to change it to one of her and Ripley) in Unlucky Like Us. But mostly, she'll save pics of herself with the people she loves in goofy photos to her home and lock-screen. She'd have ones of her and Xander from their time at the Fanaticon Convention and rotate it out with cute selfies of her and Donnelly. Before Donnelly, she had plenty of silly photos of her with Eliot & Tom as her home screen. 

✨ Group Chats (the most frequented): Luna's most interactive group chats are as follows.

Troublemakers (Eliot, Tom, Luna). The group name is Weirdos. But Eliot has been known to change the name from time to time. 

Hale Siblings (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney). The group name is Go Go Power Rangers.

Hale Family (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney, Lily and Lo). The group name is Hale Fam Jam.

Jane, Sullivan, and Luna. The group name has changed throughout the years from Townhouse Gals to Penthouse Gals. They're in the works for a new name at the moment.

The Roommates (Jane, Thatcher, Maximoff, Farrow, Akara, Banks, Sullivan, Luna, and the newer addition of Donnelly). This group name is Fucking Roomies, named and created by Sullivan Minnie Meadows. It has changed recently to Fucking Ex-Roomies.

✨ #1 Emergency Contact: previously her parents, then Maximoff, but nowadays, it's Donnelly. 

✨ Alarms: She has an endless scroll of un-deleted alarms. There are so, so many of them.

✨ Social Media Usage: She has a public Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, and then a private Fanaticon and Reddit. She uses Twitter a lot less and mostly sticks to posting on IG and TikTok. Her photos are usually very goofy and playful, and she's featured in most of them. At times, she'll post pics of her food (like her Taco Bell order), random things in New York (a bench in Central Park or a stop sign), and things that remind her of Donnelly (Wawa logo). Donnelly and Luna will be in each other's TikTok videos and they do silly lip-sync and dance trends together.

XANDER HALE

❤️ Type of Phone: He has a new iPhone. He's not running out to buy the latest one right when a new model drops, but he's also not waiting forever to upgrade like Moffy either. He has a few different phone cases he loves, and most are fandom-related. He tends to stick to the map of Middle Earth case a lot and also a forest green case with gold script in circle (the One Ring). He also has a wooden hand-etched case that represents the Fellowship of the Ring. He has a few Marvel cases as well, but you'll most often see him with a LOTR case. He also has a pop socket.

❤️ Home & Lock-Screen Photos: He has movie & TV posters as his home and lock-screen, as well as character art for his favorite fandoms like Warhammer, the Witcher, Game of Thrones, LOTR, etc. During the Charming Like Us timeline, he had an X-Men comic book panel as his lock-screen. It was of the Summers family.

Hale Siblings (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney). The group name is Go Go Power Rangers.

Hale Family (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney, Lily and Lo). The group name is Hale Fam Jam.

Parents (Lily, Lo, and Xander). There is no group name for this one. 

Winona, Audrey, Kinney, Vada, and Xander. The group name is GSX.

The Girl Squad created this group to include Xander, but at times, he doesn't interact too much.

Xander silences most of his group chat notifications, unless he's actively participating in the convo, then he'll turn that specific group notification on for a bit before silencing it when he's done. 

❤️ Organization: He has some folders, but most of the time, he downloads new apps and he'll leave them on whatever page they've downloaded to. He has a lot of pages for this reason, and it's pretty unorganized.

❤️ Alarms: He loathes using alarms, even if he has to. He has several and won't delete them. He doesn't really like making new ones.

❤️ Social Media Usage: He has a private Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok account. He also recently created a Fanaticon account, as you've read how he's on there a bit more often for Luna. He never posts on IG, but he follows celebrities and his family so he can see their posts and reels. He is most active on Reddit, but know one knows it's him.

KINNEY HALE

🖤 Type of Phone: The lastest iPhone. She loves upgrading her phone when a new model comes out, specifically for the camera & video upgrade. Her case is usually very simple and black, but she decorates it with case attachments like case chains and charms. For this reason, she doesn't always have a pop socket.

🖤 Most Used Apps: Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Netflix, YouCam, Disney+, Spotify

🖤 Favorite Random App: Decision Roulette (she'll put in the colors of her makeup palette in the decision roulette app to decide what to do with her makeup).

🖤 Favorite Social Media App: YouTube (she follows quite a lot of different YouTubers from beauty influencers to people who have their own paranormal activity channels). 

🖤 Favorite App Game: Stardew Valley

🖤 Home & Lock-Screen Photos: Selfies and photos of Kinney with her besties Audrey, Winona, and Vada. She'll rotate the photos out and sometimes have moody pictures of her nail art and boots. 

🖤 Group Chats (the most frequented): Kinney's most interactive group chats are as follows.

Girl Squad (Winona, Vada, Kinney, Audrey). The group name is BFFs. 

It was the name they created when they all got cellphones, and they've agreed to never change it out of respect of their youth. 

Hale Siblings (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney). The group name is Go Go Power Rangers.

Hale Family (Maximoff, Luna, Xander, Kinney, Lily and Lo). The group name is Hale Fam Jam.

The Girl Squad + Xander (Winona, Audrey, Kinney, Vada, Xander). The group name is GSX.

The Girl Squad + Ben (Winona, Audrey, Kinney, Vada, Ben). The group name is GSB.

🖤 Alarms: She deletes her alarms after they're no longer needed, so she mainly has her daily wakeup alarm, and she has an alarm for the witching hour (on the occasions she'd like to wake up to commune). 

🖤 Social Media Usage: She has a private Instagram and TikTok that she uses most frequently and that her friends & family follow, but she's considering making them public when she turns eighteen. Kinney mostly posts photos of her and her friends, of her outfits and makeup, and occasionally moody pictures of any places she visits. She posts less on TikTok, but she has made a few moody videos before of her in her dark room.
