Welcome to the newest Fizz Hangout! Every Friday, you all can stop by the weekly Fizz Hangout post and ask questions (to us or to your fellow patrons), discuss recent bonus scenes and/or podcasts with each other, and catch up on all the goodies you might've missed!

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday, magical & heroic beauties!! We are getting deeper into February, and we have returned to our writing cave for our second deadline of the year. We've jumped back onto Book 2 in the Webs We Weave series, and it's been lots of fun returning to this world of con artists and the small town vibes. Definitely a whole different feel than the Like Us series, so it's a bit of a palate cleanser. 

On the Patreon side of things, we're working on bonuses and some fun extras. One of which (the text message thread) posted last week. We've had lots of new patrons join us recently, so if you're new here BIG WELCOME! We hope you're loving all the goodies here on our Patreon. The glossy cover of Unlucky Like Us and the special editions are now restocked on the store 🎉

NOBODY LIKE US:

The paperback and hardcover will not be in the store until March. We will keep you updated when our copies come in and they're stocked. You will be able to request character notes inside these books, since it is a new release.

Sweetgrass Event: Nobody Like Us won't be on the preorder form, but we will be bringing a handful of copies of the special edition paperback to sell at our table.

I would want to go on a friendship date with Jane! We could go to a cat cafe, or go to different shelters to pet all of the cats! :) I know that he doesn’t really count, but I would also like to throw Phoenix into the ring for a friendship date! The drums are my favorite instrument (I **love** hearing them live 🥹) and I’ve always wanted to learn how to play them, so our “date” would consist of him giving me drumming lessons (lol). This could also be a stupid idea since we don’t know him well, and he could despise the idea of giving someone drumming lessons, but it’s finee. I won’t hold it against him if he wants to keep his super cool drummer secrets to himself (😔👊). Maybe Harriet would take pity on me and help (😂)? ——— !! 𝐍𝐋𝐔 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 !! ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ Speaking of musicians, I also have a question about Tom! In NLU there were a couple of moments where Luna reflected upon the Troublemakers’ ✨recreational activities✨ and it made me wonder about Tom. We know that he’s a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to his craft (🎸), so I was wondering if he would be the type of musician that would choose to abstain from drinking / smoking / doing drugs when he knows that he has a show coming up (as a means of ensuring that his performance wouldn’t be impeded)? Or would it be common for him not to care too much about that since he’s amongst the band scene (not to stereotype bands or anything 😅)? If he does choose to refrain from using substances before shows, then would he expect the same from Warner + Alfie? I know that musicians differ on this (some choose to abstain while others couldn’t care less), so I was just curious about where he falls on the scale! :)

I’d choose Eliot. I think he would come up with a great plan for the day! I’d hope it’s a real date, but I’d take whatever I can get. Plus after listening to the podcast about him, I love him so much more!!! He’s always been one of my favorites 💙

Love this question!! Tom being a perfectionist would lead him to 100% not partake in any drugs & alcohol before a show. He has high standards for himself for performing. There could be *rare* instances where there are exceptions. But typically this is a rule he would set for himself. And ah, his relationship with his bandmates, you shall see 😉

You guys!!! Happy Valentine's Day! I literally am feeling so much LOVE today from you two and all that you give us here on patreon and the Like Us Universe <3. I am so EXCITED for everything truly! Between last night's drop of trivia cellphone snooping which is literally everything and more that I always yap on about wanting as a podcast topic, having it transcribed and put in the usual KBR screening of 'attention to detail' my little geeky heart over these characters literally burst into tears last night you guys! IDK why! I think because it's very hard to surprise me and take me off guard, but it was everything I wanted for years here on Patreon and the fact that you guys delivered and more just makes me emotional again!? And the kind words you wrote to me as well last blog post over my job transition was just so lovely. Ah I'm getting emotional again! Silly me. AND the new Pinterest board drop of Rocky has me SOO INTRIGUED! I literally cannot wait! That's who I WANT to go on a Valentine's Date with this year! I literally cannot WAIT for the drop! I can appreciate how diving back into that world is good to mix things up! I learned from both you guys and Brandon Sanderson that when you build these epic generational universes like Cosmere or Addicted/Like Us, it's important to keep momentum still going but to not feel like you're 'dragging' it in the loveliest way possible within the same series <3. And you guy's have the PERFECT formula for geeks because we still get content throughout the interim between Like Us book releases here on patreon! So really you can do no wrong in my eyes! But on the topic OF Webs we Weave series I had so many questions! Will we get the same Addicted/Like Us treatment for them here on patreon? I know that it's fiddled in by publishers so you guys' are maybe more constraint, but I just wanted to know if those novels will get extras, podcast dedication episodes, bonus chapters, teaser Tuesdays etc? Character signatures? OR is everything we consume solely "traditional" i.e. only content we can read is from the published books alone? I wheezed (mean of me ik but it took me off guard) when Tom Schwartz said, "patron of scorned women" like OMG?! I just cannot imagine something like this happening in the Like Us cast. Like idk who but if Scandaval happened, everyone would loose their marbles and like, clutch their partner's knees under the table out of anxiety. TVD OMG TVD and One Tree Hill are two of the most rewatchable shows to have going on in the background! I DO agree! Do you guys watch it every night? Or have it going on in the background as you work and write? Or do laundry? I def think you should give Cap a go! Cap IS fittingly Moffy and Luna is spot on in every sense of the way. And on the one hand that's the reason why his comics and character journey are so great because the vision is consistent and never ret-conned. I love that he’s the Nazi ideal turned on its head. Their supposed perfect Aryan man come to wreck their shit. And that the constant struggle between fascism and him, MAKES sense and you don't have to suspend your disbelief as a reader, like how sometimes you're like "yo joker, let it go..." where the beef is just sometimes too unbelievable. Captain America's rivals MAKES sense. And I love that in a world of heroes that are working constantly to seek redemption, he’s someone there to help them when they need it. Cap is never the "most powerful hero" but has the strongest moral compass and the conviction to follow it and I’ve found that to make the most admirable heroes in their universes. And I love that he’s just a good guy, embracing and representing what America can be. What the world can be. And he’s not a Mary Sue character like haters can tend to say, bc he loves complicated things and inviting them into his life. how the world complicates that 'goodness' in him an he tries to unpack it, and how his friends and loved ones like Sharon shield him (pun intended) or add to the complication or not, makes for a very interesting character study and very beautiful hero journey. And trust and believe there are eras where he goes dark (ie the nick spencer run) where he goes into his very own Swiftie reputation era, and again seeing that goodness become grey and how he finds the light again is very interesting and influential. So yeah! I'd say if you can give Cap comics a go, you totally should! In terms whether to start with Flash or Cap it depends as they are both equally fantastic. I think if you want more of "Moffy" and a context you are familiar with, then go with marvel/Cap. If you want to have fun and dive into something brand new, no expectations or events you're familiar with, and want more of a "Ben Cobalt" vibe, go with Flash! Either way, LMK if you want either reading order as I'll happily draft something up quickly in a similar fashion you have done for me in the past :)). Podcasts I JUST CAUGHT UP WITH POP CULTURE LEFT OVERS and found out they are on an indefinite HIATUS?! WHATTTT? What's the tea?! OMG! How have you guys been choosing what shows and movies to watch next? Are you guys going to binge watch Oscar movies that are up for watching? I recently watched Elemental and it was so cuteee! I just had a head canon the entire time that this is something Luna would advocate for everyone to watch on a movie night, and as the movie went on, all the hales and their respective partners just closed their distance between one another. EVEN Marrow held hands probably at one point! It was just the cutest romance! I would def want to know what every Hale thought!
