Back to the Stagea after a quick break working on the Mx5, in this video we fix the front fender by 3D printing a single use mould from a scan from the other side, and then recreating a perfectly symmetrical fender out of fiberglass.

Enjoy the video.

Wait a minute. This ist not how 3D printing works 😂

Dude, you are killing it! This was really cool to watch. 3D prints to a completed part, amazing. Always excited to get a patreon notification from Tofu!

Quick question: you have written single use mold. Do you think you get more out of this mold than one piece? Or is it destroyed after this one?

Cheers bro. Yeah this whole 3D scanning and printing thing is going to allow me to make such massive leaps in what I'm doing. Next up is to teach myself to design bodykits in CAD and then we'll be zooming.

So the mould actually held up fine and if I wanted I could probably make another half a dozen from it. The issue is because I went for speed with the 3D prints, the resolution isn't really high enough for a production part and so I'll still have a lot of sanding and fine details to add after this.
