I would use the Poll feature but that doesn't let me add any photos.

So you guys decide, should these GTR hood vents be left as carbon fiber or colour matched to the rest of the car?Carbon Fiber:

Pros:- Cabo fibah- Looks like every other GTR- Nice contrastCons:- A little tacky- Looks like every other GTRColour Matched:Pros:- Unique- Will blend in, look more 'clean'Cons:- No cabo fibah- Might look oddWithout giving too much away, the final colour of this car is going to be a little lighter than the current bonnet, and my first thought was to paint match the vents so they wouldn't stand out. However after sanding them down in preparation for primer, I realized that on every single GTR these vents are left as exposed carbon, including the ones painted the colour I'll be going. As of right now it's the exact same amount of work for me to either spray clear coat on them or have them colour matched so I'm letting you guys vote on the final finish.I'll put up a second poll to actually vote on, or you can just comment here.

I think Carbon Fiber works best when it’s a feature in a few different places. If it’s going to be the only Carbon Fiber on the car, I’d go with Painted instead.

Hmm, I see your points from both sides. But this is a big car, big panels, maybe a little carbon fiber to break it up would be a good thing. Paint matching will help them blend in….but…you don’t build a one-of-kind custom wide body kit just to ‘blend in’, do ya?? I think id say leave em exposed. Sure it looks like every other skyline, but this AINT every other skyline, quite the opposite actually. One other possibility, how about painting the top of the vent but leave the recessed center vent part as exposed carbon?

Some solid points, be sure to also add your vote to the poll I just posted if you haven't already. And that's a nice idea about the top surface being painted but the inside being carbon. I did think of that and was able to find a picture of it in fact and decided it probably wouldn't be the best. It's sort of a bad combination of just enough carbon to be distracting while also pretending it's not there. Definitely a situation where all or nothing is best in my opinion.

So trying to get into Nissan's head with this, because it will be the only carbon fiber on the car BUT, there are a few places around the car that have a dark trim which from a distance will all look the same colour. The front grill notoriously is like that, same with the front lip. Then there's also the dark trim on the rear bumper. So factoring in those pieces I can see how it would match. Because from a distance you wont really see the weave, more just the colour difference. I personally don't really like carbon fiber, I think it's a little showy, but yeah my main thinking was, it's the only actual carbon on the car and that might stand out, but then again, it's the same with real GTRs so idk.

Perhaps the answer is to paint them the same as the dark trim. That way you have the same uniform effect, without the Carbon. That could provide you with the best of both worlds.

Hadn't thought of this. But part of me feels like it would be giving nobody what they want haha. The people that want it the same colour would miss out, and the rest that want the carbon wouldn't get that either lol.
