Last time I posted about the garage I had basically just opened up the shutters and that was it. But now that I've fallen into stage 3 sanding withdrawal it's time to actually get to work on it so I can get back to doing what I love.
First thing to take care of was give the place a good sweeping and get rid of that fridge.
Anybody that knows about Japan knows how much of a pain in the ass it is to get big things like this out of your hair so I opted to just tear the whole thing apart with my 3 1/2 tools that I currently own and carry it out in pieces.
The result was way more room for activities and now the floor is finally ready for surface treatment.
After a bit of peer pressure from some friends I finally gave in and had a look on AliExpress for some random things and couldn't resist grabbing a few of these nobori flags for about $2 each.
Power is getting hooked up soon and after that we're going to really start moving along. Getting this garage set up is going to be my first proper video back on my channel and I've got a few more things planned for it when I get around to uploading that.
All the pieces lying on the floor ready to find a hidden part of my property to be forgotten about.
Then we move to the outside of the garage. Weeds. Weeds everywhere.
Some elbow grease and a little sunburn and it was back to looking respectable. For some reason this whole turning bay / gravel area is covered with carpets. I guess as an attempt to keep weeds down? either way it's gonna need more work in the future but it's fine for now.
And it wasn't just the garage that got taken over, my garden looks like a scene from My Neighbor Totoro.
It took over a week to go around the whole property pulling them all out. After that I made my first big boy purchase and got myself a law mower to take care of my incredibly fast growing and super patchy grass. I'll be re-seeding the lawn but I didn't move here to become a suburban dad obsessed with lawn-care.
I've also been making progress on the interior of the house too. And by making progress I mean cleaning tatami for about a month to get the probably 5+ years of dirt and neglect out of them.
I'm slowly accumulating furniture and figuring out how I want to style the place too. It's really coming together. I'm filming a fair bit of it and will probably include it as a bonus at the end of the next YouTube video and possibly upload a more complete version here exclusively on Patreon. Now moving on to the photos from the Tsukuba meet I went to a little while back. The video has already been posted but some of you like me might enjoy the more HD photos and some of my hand picks so here's that for you guys.
I will have a very special update soon exclusively for members. I hope you guys are ready for the first sneak peek at the next build.Until next time, take it easy.
