So some pretty major news in this video, there's some awesome news with the new sponsor, and some less awesome news regarding the Japan situation but I've already filled you guys in on that in the previous post.

Man i'm sorry but the patreon player sucks : sometimes no cc, this time no sound. Can we just have the unlisted youtube link ?

Tofu Auto Works

🀦 Typical Patreon. Every time I upload it also bitches about me uploading in too high a resolution and to "try uploading in a lower resolution next time". FFS To be fair usually the subtitles are on me forgetting, but Patreon still doesn't let me auto translate them into all languages like YouTube. I'll have a look at uploading on YouTube again, but last time I did that I felt like it was screwing with my algorithm because it couldn't tell why some of my videos were only getting like 10 views and so it assumed my channel was dead and stopped promoting my main uploads. Every day social media makes me more and more mad eh.

Guizmonium

Yeah if you have to upload it twice on YouTube, once for each audience, it's not easier ... Figure it out when you have time for it, not a big deal πŸ˜‰

Tofu Auto Works

It's not so much an issue with uploading it twice, I have to do that anyway with patreon. It's how it kinda messes up things inside my YouTube analytics and contents tabs when I'm scrolling through. I might make a second channel for posting these patreon ones. Issue is Private videos I'd need to approve everyones google account individually, and unlisted means anyone with the link can watch it ad free.

Guizmonium

Tbf, if we choose to join your Patreon we're not gonna share a private link I think

Tofu Auto Works

I'm not too worried about anyone here sharing it, it's just that if it's a publicly accessible URL for YouTube then AI scrapers will eventually get hold of it. YouTube definitely has the best video player with subtitle options, but still trying to find the best solution.

ya man, the least i could do! i know its not much bro but hope it helps

Your hard work shows. My hope is sponsorship can improve the residency problem. All the best Chris!

Tofu Auto Works

The Japan residency is more or less a done thing now. I'm moving back to NZ. Truthfully, very little could convince me to stay given the way things are right now, but I am hopeful that in the future they'll fix some of this mess and I'll be able to put some trust back into building a life here.
