Happy Saturday guys! I'm going to be reacting to some more Fawlty Towers in the next couple of weeks because I'm trying to finish the series before I watch the stage show mid January :)

David Wilson

Such a great episode, the actor who played the Doctor, is Geoffrey Palmer, he has been in loads of tv shows over the years, and he is in the final episode of Blackadder goes forth. He is also in the Doctor Who special that David Tennant was on the Titanic.

Must be a little strange watching John Cleese in this after you have just watched "The life of Brian" The Doctor is a famous British actor. He has been in loads of things, from his own long running sit com to James Bond movies. Great reaction Megan ( except when you forgot about the womon in the cupboard and thoght the dead had come alive, LOL)

MeganRuth

Yes it was a little strange! 😂 Thank you! And oops! That was a bit of a mind blip from me... 😅

MeganRuth

ahh okay! I may remember him from Doctor Who, then. I watched that episode years ago!

I recall John saying that he spoke to a real hotelier in London and asked him what was the weirdest part of the job, and he said "the stiffs". This guy didn't expect to die, but some people know they are probably going to go in the night, so they choose to have their last few days or hours somewhere luxurious where the staff will deal with it instead of making their family do it. It happens enough in posh hotels that they are used to it. But it would happen anyway, with 1000s of different people using a hotel, some are bound to die while there.

MeganRuth

Wow! That's crazy! But I guess it makes sense some would die at hotels... choosing to die at a hotel though? That's something I would have never thought of...

Brodie Vickers

Ah, Geoffrey Palmer (Dr. Price) what a legend. That man had a very long career (off the top of my head: He had 2 appearances in Doctor Who 'DW and the Silurians' & 'Voyage of the Damned', you can look out for him in the next episode of Blackadder, and had his own long running sitcom 'As Time Goes By' alongside Dame Judi Dench). Despite all that, he'd joked that the only thing people ever wanted to hear from him was, "I'm a doctor and I want my sausages." 😄

Brodie Vickers

Now I think about it, Mr. Mackay from Porridge pops up in that 1st one too! haha

David Wilson

Yes he does. he was in Butterflies too with a pre only fool and horses Rodney (thats me showing my age) :p

Very difficult to deal with. Cruise ships always have a cold store to put customers who die during the voyage. I have only been on one cruise and suddenly the guy in the bar didn't turn up to play one evening. It turned out he had been found dead in the sauna after a steam with one of the show dancers—the highlight of the trip.😁

MeganRuth

😂 it is a great line to be fair!! I'll keep an eye out for him in Blackadder 😊

MeganRuth

wow! That's crazy! It would definitely make the trip memorable, that's for sure!

Bobz

I forgot to say that though most passengers were Brits, there were quite a few Americans and Germans. They were horrified about what had happened whereas the Brits thought it was hilarious. That is Brit humour for you.

Geoffrey Palmer also starred alongside Dame Judi Dench in the film "Mrs Brown" and was also in two other top tv shows, "Butterflies" and "The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin" two other great comedy shows that Megan needs to investigate!
