Hey folks! I need your help.

The Demo for my TTRPG, Goblinz is so close to being done. But what kind of mini adventure should be included in the demo?

I’ve added some options below, but feel free to suggest any of your own in the comments below.

The Adventure should be short enough (approx 2 hours), showcase as much of the system and world as possible but also potentially have an open nature.

It could be nice if this adventure could conclude nicely by the end of the game OR could serve as a nice jumping off point for a continued adventure.

Some ideas I have:

Isekai Adventure

The Adventure starts before you actually play. The Guide makes a discord for everyone to talk in character as people who are about to try out a new RPG. Here they will discuss their builds, the lore of the world etc.

And then when everyone sits down to play, they are all transported into this new game as their characters and are trying to escape.

At the end of this adventure they will be guven the option to stay in the game, or return home.

The adventure itself will be a rather simple goblin cave.

Heist Gone Wrong

The party is tasked with the unusual heist to steal a princess and and smuggle her to her secret lover, but something goes terribly wrong.

Survival Game Show

The players are recruited by a wizard who is looking for participants for a new game show: The Great Wizard Games.

Winners of these games will be granted any wish they desire.

But first they need to beat a series of trials (this adventure) in order to get into the official games.

This adventure will serve as their “preliminaries”, solving puzzles and fighting foes before finally being faced with a very difficult decision.

Mystery Ghost Train

Players will wake up on a train to nowhere and myst discover the mysteries of their past while also trying to figure out who has hijacked this train and why.

This is an emotional heavy game leaning strongly on mystery and roleplay with a few core combat encounters.

IMO, since it's a demo, something simple and easily comprehensible (like the mentioned isekai adventure) would be good to keep the focus on players figuring out how the game works without too many other things to focus on for those trying out the TTRPG out for the first time.

I think you can mix the isekai and the game show together. Specifically if you do a tower concept. Or something similar you can have each level focus on a different aspect of play. Or mix and match
