The ghosts of Thorfinn's past are there in his subconscious. He might not remember his dreams when he wakes up, but he's constantly tormented by them as he slips from consciousness. He's known nothing but war since the time he was a small child and he's suffering from the psychological effects of war now that he's away from it. Kid needs a hug 😢

Fun thing about the dream, the fighting scene it's the same that he did when he took the head with a helmet in Frankia, but this time it wasn't the commander. This season is peak anime it's normal that you are silent and taking everything in, the music, the close ups, the scenes... I can't wait to watch your reactions jeje.

"Thank you for waking me." I love all the layers behind this small phrase. He learned to say thank you from Einar earlier in the episode. And obviously Einar woke Thorfinn up in a literal, physical sense, but also seemingly in a spiritual and mental sense as well. I can't even imagine the adolescent Thorfinn of last season ever saying "thank you" or "I'm sorry" to anyone.

It's so good how the interaction in the stables happened: Einar seemingly recognises his own struggle in Thorfinn with wanting to live like watching a mirror, despite experiencing strife on almost the opposite sides. It must be shocking to find out that someone who struggles like Thorfinn was on the other side.
