I've always took Einar saying don't be so spoiled and arrogant as him speaking to himself and Thorfinn

sheesh

As a prior military member i can't help but to think about how many times this story replays for people today.. reinforces the need for mental health and for us to reflect love and kindness ❤️...

Omg “Aske-Chad son”, I’m dying Carissa

That phrase about your body being on fire was from Violet Evergarden! I'd never thought about that, I love that connection.

They are going to nail you to the wall with that piano

What I felt was one of the most important moments in this episode was when Thorfinn said "Thank you" and then shortly afterwards "I'm sorry". There's a real shift in those words from the Thorfinn we've seen in most of Season 1 and the first few eps of this season. A phrase of gratitude and a heartfelt apology, Einar's words moved him at his core whether he recognised fully in that moment or not, they healed his mind and soul just a tad and you can see it a little bit. Einar was just the man that Thorfinn needed to come into his life at this point.

Einar is just the friend that thorfinn needs

The piano player is going to go crazy this season.

Roli D. Great

The moment Einar thought about killing a person (Einar just gave in to the horror of being a murderer), he stopped choking Thorfinn. Cause Einar asked Thorfinn if he killed people. Thus meaning that Einar didn't kill any person/s in his past.

Sk

using the branches as a metaphor for all the dead bodies Thorfinn's seen is crazy

You know, at around 8:08 in this edit of the reaction. The scene in Thorfinn's nightmares is a direct recreation of a scene shown to us in season 1 episode 7? It's when Thorfinn's tasked with getting a commander's head. Really shows you how much intentional detail is added to the art direction. They didn't have to connect that nightmare to a real life experience but it makes so much more sense to do so. Peak visual storytelling imo.

Einar losing his family and again and being sold off yet still believing that someone got him this far for a reason is telling. His family was absolutely wonderful. He doesn't care to hear what Thorfinn’s been through and right now I think that's most helpful for Thorfinn.

I’m a US Army combat vet with PTSD and this episode destroys me. We all need someone like Einar, reminding us that we need to live. Otherwise atonement is impossible.

I love H&K

Karissa said about quote she cant remember where it was. It was Violet Evergarden "You don’t realize your body is on fire and burning up because of the things you did. You’ll understand one day. And then you’ll realize for the first time that you have many burns." It really does gives the same vibe for Thorfinn
