This new schedule is cursed or it was changed and i did not noticed lol

Light knew that L knew he was Kira, but there simply wasn't concrete evidence. (L won in my heart )

Art

damn so they are a tad later it was still uploaded the day of lol. Relax some reactors miss days/weeks. They are doing just fine IMO

Unholy

Lol this thumbnail

Meww

Your reaction was so relatable I spent days convincing myself it was a prank 😭 also I knew the moment you started the anime that you will know the parallels in “ washing jesus’s feet “! I watched SO many reactions to the show and you girls are the only ones who understood that scene!

Light didn't beat L, he beat Rem. He had to cheat to learn L's name.

Ryan Turok

Jesus washed Judas’ feet all while knowing he would betray and kill him. L knew

Feignorance

Light beat them both. If you're not cheating you're not doing it right. It's a game of life or death.

Isac christensen

Lets pour one out for L rest in piece you almost got there. Great reaction to a great episode :)

Nostal_G

He literally beat both. He could have killed L alone but he made it in a way to also kill Rem

Nostal_G

He literally lost

Nervous

so it's not him appealing to light's God complex but the opposite. in the weeks leading up to his betrayal and crucifixion, Jesus got on his knees and washed the feet of each of his disciples, including his future betrayer, Judas. L knew Light was Kira. He was certain. He could have grabbed a gun and shot Light in the head, but doing that would have been taking justice into his own hands just like Light. The greatest testament to L's principles is that he was willing to die for his principles and what he represented (like Jesus). Just like Jesus, L was washing Light's feet as a last-ditch show of humility and friendship. He was appealing to Light's humanity and goodness and sense of shame.

Nervous

well they got it a bit backwards lol but still more than any other reactors I've watched 🤝

DevilWearsAdidas

...LOL WHERES HAYLO IN THE THUMBNAIL OH NO hahaha

Kade Massey

It will all come together by the last episode

DevilWearsAdidas

See it through to the end! the second half is kind of rushed (as in lots of things missing from the manga, not quality) and I feel like this part is the hang up from people liking the show. BUT ! It's more realistic this way. Of course people die. It's part of life. It's my main complaint with popular characters. There's no real threat to super popular characters in a lot of anime because of the pressure the population puts on the authors of the manga. It's refreshing to have ACTUAL threats to MAIN characters. Like in AoT how the thing with Armin happened and they said "nah, just kidding" or the part with Zoro "Nothing happened" or Pell from Alabasta. That's more frustrating because you're all worried and they get "lol second chance". This feels more realistic, like you genuinely should worry, literally anything can happen and now we're not in the safety zone. I guess it's a preference, but I tend to like gritty reality most times.

WillDaBeast Grasslands

"Losing" is relative to what goal you're striving for. L won in the sense that he figured out who Kira was, even though he lost in the sense that he couldn't live long enough to prove it. This entire anime is a battle of intellect, and who knows what. The moment that L figured out who Kira was, Light lost that battle.

Jonnyrhythm

Great reaction. I hope you can enjoy the rest of the show

Javier

The only variable that L didn’t know was the fact that Rem loved Misa and was willing to kill him if Misa’s life was at risk. That’s the only reason Light won.

Bruce #Ricky

thats why Light is the goat THE GOAT 🐐

Star.D.ust

so well said. L for the win🤕

지원

Damnnn

Star.D.ust

I don't care what anyone says, Light NEVER won. L won from the very beginning - he KNEW it was Light, he just needed more solid evidence to convince the world, and this is solid evidence for supernatural/"god" powers btw. L won with humanity and justice, even if no one else knew, he knew. Light needs the whole world to feel his power and rid everyone of people "in his way". That alone is enough to see how low of a character Light is. Gonna watch Usopp videos to cheer me up with the same VA😭😂

CastSenpai

That was a great catch on the Judas reference. Yes, Jesus did wash Judas’ (and the other disciples) feet as an act of humility, shortly before Judas betrayed him. And Jesus knew he would betray him. So I definitely believe this scene is paralleling the fact that L knew Light would betray him.

Phoenix

The fact that Rem turned to sand proves that Misa would have been caught if L finished this investigation. This is confirmation that L was on the cusp of solving the case as he stated, and would have succeeded (if it weren't for that meddling Shinigami).

Brandipity

I just dont get why they wouldnt have waited and had Rem kill the prisoner that wrote the name in 13 days to prove that 13 days was true.

Salam 0603

The fact that haylo is just gine from the chair and kiss has her mouth wide open says it all

Jim Nasium

I don't think anyone would have come this far as L with the evidence and this crazy scenario up until now. Respect to you sir.

adrian zavala

When I didn't see Haylo in the thumbnail I knew it was gonna be an insane episode

iMportJ

Because Light wants to kill L of course. That was the whole point.

iMportJ

He had 2 manipulable death gods, literally, someone with the Shinigami eyes that would do anything he asks and two death notes, all crazy supernatural weapons, yet it took him months to kill a single human who doesn't even know the existence of these things. This goes to show just how impressive L is. I'm not trying to put Light down, he's obviously super smart, but come on, he's nowhere near L's level of unreal genies.

iMportJ

Light didn't win, the game was simply rigged in a way that quite literally doesn't allow L to survive this. Rem, a literal death god, will want to kill L and protect Misa. No matter how you look at it, it is in Rem's best interest to discard L and there is literally nothing L or any human can do to stop a death god, so L dying was just inevitable. It simply wasn't a fair game to begin with. L knew Misa and Light were Kira, but he can't just arrest them for it without solid evidence regardless of how convinced he is with his deduction. So, if you think of it this way, L actually won since he uncovered Kira's identity before light uncovered his.

Javier

I understand what you’re saying, but it’s simpler than that, is not that complicated. L lost because he died. If L had known that Rem was in love with Misa and could kill him if he threatened Misa, he would have played it differently (for example, not mentioning his next move in front of Rem, which ultimately cornered Rem into killing him). Conversely, Light was fully aware of this variable, and he based his entire strategy on it. So, long story short, L didn’t have all the variables, but he definitely lost, in my humble opinion.

iMportJ

As smart as he is, Light had two manipulable death gods, literally, someone with the Shinigami eyes who would do anything he asked, and two Death Notes, all crazy supernatural weapons, yet it still took him months to kill a single human who didn’t even know these things existed. This goes to show just how impressive L is. I’m not trying to put Light down, he’s obviously super smart but he’s nowhere near L’s level of unreal genius. Light didn’t win, the game was simply rigged in a way that quite literally didn’t allow L to survive. Rem, a literal death god, would want to kill L to protect Misa. No matter how you look at it, it was in Rem’s best interest to discard L, and there was literally nothing L, or any human, could do to stop a death god. So, L dying was just inevitable. It simply wasn’t a fair game to begin with. L knew Misa and Light were Kira, but he couldn’t just arrest them without solid evidence, regardless of how convinced he was by his deduction. So, if you think of it this way, L actually won since he uncovered Kira’s identity before Light uncovered his. Additionally, the very fact that Rem died after killing L shows that this action lengthened Misa's life. This means if L hasn't been killed, Misa would have definitely been captured and executed, and of course Misa being Kira surely points to Light being Kira. Whichever way you look at it, L outperformed Light. He practically won a chess game with a few chess pieces and blind folded against an opponent who had all 16 pieces.

BossKingGodd

L was playing a game without fully knowing the rules, a handicap, and almost won.

BossKingGodd

Exactly. There are a shit ton of dumb shit in this show. In reality none of the characters are as smart as the show wants you to think.

BossKingGodd

L was playing a game without knowing all the rules and almost won. Light isn’t as smart as the show wants people to think

SupremeCai

Was so excited for this since you guys started this show. Can't wait to watch

WillDaBeast Grasslands

Yall, there can be multiple valid interpretations to what constitutes "winning" here. It's a battle of intellect, manipulation, ego, and luck. Plenty of room for considering new angles here. Personally, I choose to interpret L as the winner, since he figured out that Light was Kira. To me, was the most important competition between them, and L figured it out comparatively quickly despite being constantly thwarted by supernatural powers. Light did well by killing L before he could prove it, but can you really call that "winning" in a battle of intellect? That would be like me killing my opponents in a spelling-bee and declaring myself the winner by process of elimination. In a survival sense, yeah Light won. From an intellectual standpoint, I think L wins.

Marcelo

So did light win? Or did he take an L?

handsome squidward

lol this thumbnail just kills me, haylo just straight up gone, reminds me of Kiss when Eren got his head blown off in Aot

BaTe0o7

I watched this so long ago I never put two and two together. Rem could see Misa's days were numbered making that deal again and L making that deduction basically mapped out Misa's final days to Rem since he could see her lifespan. Taking out L and Watari here was the only option to save Misa as it would extend her life! And taking anyone else other than L out would mean Misa lives longer suffering under what L might put her through since he would be alive to prove she was connected to Kira somehow. Even extending her life in that way would not help "save" her if L is alive. Insane writing and storytelling.

BaTe0o7

It's like when you're confronted by a man with a gun. Your likelyhood of survival increases when you appeal to their humanity. Stating your name and giving the gunman your life story will often times make them less likely to shoot. When the person in front of them isn't just a nobody to them, guilt will hold most normal people back. Except psychopaths lol. Sorry L.

Manny

I hate episode 25 😢 😤 😭

locaro1584

let's not be toxic to someone asking a question maybe

ratchetjoker

THE GOD OF THE NEW WORLD HAS ARRIVED 😈

ratchetjoker

I'm kidding. You will be missed L :(

Holmes21

Because L was never gonna disclose who the prisoner was, they were making preparations to move the Death Note, you could argue that Rem could fly over there and see the prisoner to kill him but that would be way too suspicious now that everyone could see her.

APieceOfCoffee

A note for next episode: please DO NOT SKIP IT! Lots of people think it's just a recap and skip it all together, but it's important. It shows all the events and evidence as witnessed from L's POV and then moves forward in the story.

Hugo Coutinho

L cleaned Light's feet in a symbolic anime-original scene (not in the manga) after they got caught in the rain, interpreting it as an act of atonement for his sins against Kira (Light) and a powerful nod to the biblical story of Jesus washing Judas's feet before betrayal, showing L's acceptance of their complex relationship and Light's god-like status, or even a tactic to play into Light's complex psychology

EvilJo

I firmly believe that L knew that he couldn't win this fight ever since the helicopter scene where he sees Rem and knows that there are two Death Notes. He fully understood within moments just how much the odds were stacked against him. The killer he was hunting didn't have delusions of being a God he had the power of a Death God.

Ricky Faber

Everyone knows the rules of anime. If you get a characters backstory they are either about to die or get a power up. R.I.P to Ryuzaki (L)

Jonathan S

show should of ended here

Dark Brother

I disagree, although I would've preferred L's passing to have been postponed till a bit later in the story. One curtain closes and another opens, the show must go on.

"Are you freaking joking my booty?!" 😭

I was the best day of my life when I watched this episod 😏
