One of the themes from season 1 is Jinwoo internalizing the survival of the fittest value. I think that is why he did not feel any regret killing Kim and making him a summon. All we have to do is look at what Kim would have done had Jinwoo not killed him - He already left them for dead, when he came back he would have killed the other three weaker subordinates had Jinwoo not interfered. And finally, he was coming at Jinwoo with every intention to kill him. It's either kill or be killed in the dungeons - there are no laws to protect the weak. In this sense, what Jinwoo did was not grey at all.

Keep in mind Kim was coming to kill Jinwoo. The manwha shows it better IMO. Jinwoo actually kicks his sword over where he is laying as well after smacking him into next week. It was self defense

I read the light novel as it came out and my memory is a bit foggy by now but in the source material he is a lot more insightful. There is a lot of internal monologue for his actions and why he does them and especially for the aftermath, Without spoilers I can say that the way the show has depicted his pondering after killings is lacking in a way. It has weighed very heavily on him after every time.

Jinwoo kicked the sword to him because he WANTED Kim to try and kill him so he could justify killing him and turning him into a soldier. Not really a spoiler since the anime doesn't discuss it.

The necromancy applies to pretty much most living organism (including humans) - and that's what makes it so scary (especially in the wrong hands).

Jinwoos change to necromancy and therefore improving his intelligence points goes so underrated in these episodes as he completely changed after the fight with igris and you can tell with his knowledge of the ice elves and realising he doesn’t have a stronger fighting force against the ice elf commander and therefore adding an A rank tank to his arsenal which ended up being the reason he won

I’ve read the source material both the original and the reworked one to English and unfortunately there’s a huge plot hole here and with the original work in the original work he was really saddened by having to do it in the rework to English translation which is the one I assume you read he is only interested in gaining him although not happy at the outcome but was a requirement to actually win against the ice elves the shadow army was also not doing as good as in the anime lol they was getting wiped pretty fast and depleting his man quickly which made the requirement of iron that much more necessary the plot hole I can’t say because I don’t think this episode gives it up so I’ll just hold it

I wonder if you girls noticed its not just his voice that is so cool but its the entire sound design of the show. How they amplify his voice at certain moments, make it deeper at certain commands, make the fights sound a little more shell compared to his voice. its all so amazing. Most anime have really old sound designs thats why solo leveling is so refreshing
