Up to you guys but switching to 3 episodes for this arc might be better just cause the episodes feel like they go so fast but just make sure you carry on with whatever you guys feel comfortable with

Watching it on my own for the first time I felt the need to speed up around here. So many threads to follow at once means you only get a dribble of each during an episode. Jumping to 3 per session might be a solid idea.

Yeah, the names of the armies are the names of the card suits (also Doflamingo is the Joker keeping the cards theme) but in spanish: - Pica - Spade - Trébol - Club - Diamante - Diamonds However, I always thought of this as a missed oportunity. These are the names of the French/English card suits (wich are by far the most known around the world) but here in Spain we have our own card suits, and given Dressrosa is heavily based on Spain, it would have been awesome to have those be the names. -Oros -Copas -Espadas -Bastos I understand why it was done this way, but I wished our cards had been featured in something as massive as One Piece 😁

Just to clarify, as this has been explained, maybe just a bit confusing: Yes, the void century was from 900 to 800 years ago. So the World Government was formed at the end of it or right after

Ok so... threading a needle here... but the world government was founded by the original 20 kingdoms. 19 of them moved the Marijoa and became the Celestial Dragons. The Nefetari family stayed in Alabasta. After that, as we learned in Enies Lobby from Spandam there are now 170+ countries that now make up the world government. A number of them go to the meeting that you guys saw with Wapol and Cobra in attendance but that meeting could have any numbers of kings/queens from the 170 countries so they aren't all founding members.

The only caveat I see with it is that based on the copyright, this might lead to less of the actual episodes being shown the edited versions, which I would dislike. I don't know the exact rulings on that

@Nadeem L Honestly maybe. But I don't think there is anything too spoilery in there. So I would prefer them knowing about this with minimal spoilers instead of making false assumptions about those 19 families

I'm not spoiling anything. Diamante wasn't the one missing since he was mentioned in the earlier episodes when he'll appear. I like how you noticed when they mentioned an absentee. Keep an open mind😉

It's important to note they are still at the beginning of the arc. I think at one point we literally get a 7 min episode because of recap/reflashbacks/map, intro/outro.

Yes the pacing is not really an issue if you watch 6 episodes a week. But one episode a week with sometimes not much content and 5 min of flashbacks earlier episodes was very tough to watch so at the time they aired I either went to the manga or waited a few months until I could binge watch again

a little summary what we now so far. there happened something in the void century 900 to 800 years ago. the result is the founding of the world government by 20 kingdoms. the porneglyphs (at least some) are telling events from this period. It is forbidden to reveal and know what happened during that time. The WG is even willing to wipe out islands with a buster call when they commit that crime. The only person we know of that lived in that century is someone called Joy Boy, who broke is promise to the fishermen island and apologised for that. Also we know of three ancient weapons that were created in that time. Pluton, Poseidon and Uranus.

i feel like the people who love watching the show don't even notice the slow pacing, i didn't really have a problem with it the first time i watched it because i enjoyed every bit of it but watching it again i kind of notice what people mean

Yeah after seeing people cut unnecessary panning, crowd reaction (wide eyes) and slim it down then it becomes glaringly obvious how much Toei dropped the ball there. I wish it was strictly a Dressrosa issue but it just doesn't stop.

true I watched dressrosa weekly back in 2014, I didn't know what pacing is or cared about it 😂I just been waiting every sunday to go to the internet cafe just to watch the new episode I didn't even know what's a filler or a manga lol but like u said I kinda understand what people complain abt now

Haylo I guess you forgot but this is the 3rd time you've seen Gaon Cannon being used. First time was Ussop firing it at the Flying Fish Riders right before Sabaody. Second time was during Sunny and the crew's entrance into Gyoncorde Plaza in Fishman Island right after Luffy (who was in Megalo's mouth) sent Hordy flying. It was fired at the New Fishman Pirates inside the plaza. It's powered by cola energy like coup de burst.
