Here are a few things that are better explained in the manhwa. When the Black Ant eats someone’s head, it gains the victim’s memories (and something else — don’t want to spoil it). That’s why, after eating the Ant Queen, it knew who killed her and went after Cha Hae-In first. When Goto saw Jinwoo’s eyes while facing the Black Ant, it triggered memories of his sparring match with Jinwoo. In the manhwa, Goto was afraid of Jinwoo by the end of their fight, and he saw a similar image then and he thought he was seeing death.

I lost my job yesterday in the Amazon mass remote-engineers layoffs, and these reactions are blunting the blow and keeping me cool. I can't wait for 2 days from now. And Haylo is kinda right about the black ant and how it gets stronger/smarter per person that it kills and absorbs (reminds you of someone?) One thing to note for those who ask "why didn't jinwoo join earlier" : there's a 10 minutes delay on the feed so that's out of the question. But he didn't have a shadow on Byung-gyu since he wasn't one of the 5 that he was close to (never met him) because byungu the healer wasn't at the training grounds. Only when Goto is implied to have had an incident off-screen (sword snapped), did the shadow that jinwoo have on GOTO alert that even the mighty goto wasn't enough. So even if there were some complications and the live stream was near realtime, jinwoo would have trusted in Goto to handle the situation as the strongest guild leader from japan (assuming he doesn't want to get involved since the others are S ranks and grown ups and strong). But since Goto HIMSELF got rekt, jinwoo realized that they're in more trouble than can be, and realized he HAD to get involved and immediately "manifested" the other 4 shadows he had there to make a shield around the person that it was hosted in, and then used one of htem to exchange-teleport into the fight. So while jinwoo didn't want to get involved, it's bceause the latest data that they had showed that the current 15 S ranks were MORE than enough to solve this jiju raid. And to be fair, that data was accurate if not for the new blue bug son... beacuse if you put aside the new blue ant, the S ranks cleaned up outside AND got the queen relatively easily, so jinwoo's power assessment wasn't wrong... it's just that their data didn't have knowledge of the new blue ant existing and being THAT strong... so let's all cut jinwoo some slack lol. also fun (sad) fact, @Haylo @Kiss, not really a spoiler but just context that was reduced for anime runtime about the blue ant seeing through the camouflage of byungu. People on the internet were complaining "stop advertising that you have a healer". A- that didn't matter because the blue ant ate its mom inheriting her memories/knowledge and that's why it attacked Cha Hae-in hunter first, because it's the one that killed his mom. So it would have known that a healer was there and healed people from the poison spray. B- In the manwa and light novel, the blue ant realized that the enemy regenerated and put 2 and 2 together about a healer being nearby but unseen. So what it did was INTENTIONALLY "hold back" when hulk-smashing the tank Ma hunter, just enough to give him constant mortal wounds without actually killing him, and every time byung-giu would heal Ma hunter, the ant would pick up on the energy spike of healing from a camouflage, like a 6-th sense, and after doing it a few time, it narrowed down the location of the camouflaged S rank healer (like a sonar), and went there and sniped him first. Unlike the other S ranks where it would take out their heads instantly, it didnt know EXACTLY where his head was, so it just guestimated where he'd be and speared him with its attack which revealed him, and THEN bit off his head. So just some fun fact that ant isn't just strong, it's calculated and smart too. And that Aria song playing is a direct 1:1 (even in the camera angles and character positions) of this black ant similar to jinwoo "snapping" back in season 1 at the murderous party. The parallels are definitely intentional.

Keep it up!! 👍 Just a note: 📝 Jinwoo is the ONLY player because of the System in the Double Dungeon. That’s why he can keep getting stronger. All other Hunters in this show are 'Awakened' and their power is usually fixed, except in super rare cases of 'Reawakening' where their rank might increase.

Since haylo and kiss love solo leveling I think they should check out that time I got reincarnated as a slime, it has the same vibe and it is another anime where the main character gets really strong really fast, I just think you guys would really like it.
