Haylo & Kiss: If you want to continue reading some more Death Note related material check out Death Note Short Stories which came out 6 years ago. It's a couple of short stories that took place before and after the series such as: C-Kira Story - Takes place 3 years later staring Near A-Kira Story - Takes place 10 years later Ryuk comes back to earth and gives the death note to another top scoring high school student.(You would be shocked who shows up in this story lol) L: Whammy House & L: One Day Both prequels of L before the Death Note series.

If I am not mistaken the story was suppose to end with the L's death. The original Idea was for Light and L to die together which the two authors of death note showed on there next work which was a manga about two mangaka in the two main characters had a manga which looks just like death note and in the story the magazine editors and chairmen ..etc were trying to push the two main characters to continue their manga because it was so successful but the two main characters refused and then we saw the ending of the story they did and it was about the two main characters which they look similar to L and Light dying together.It's as if they were telling the story of them self So people is actually questing is that what happened to them that they were pushed to continue because it was successful and for the money when they wanted to end it.

I think he is one of the best written villains in manga tho. His writing is impeccable, loved that his ending felt pathetic it just wrapped up his character perfectly. Favourite character in the show for me for sure.

Man I would love for them to watch Monster after this show. It’s just a perfectly written show of the same genre. I wont comment on which is better since it’s subjective but Monster by Naoki Urasawa is definitely as good if not better than death note. It’s not a long show as well. Definitely longer than death note but it’s not a long running series at all. And it’s already finished.

L's real name was L. Lawliet. I knew you'd love this series, I can tell when someone can pick up on the subtle genius of it. The reason why people struggle to like this show is because it does the ONE THING that you as the viewer and the writer have an unspoken rule of; don't kill the important main cast member. It'd obviously NEVER happen like Mikasa or Armin or one of the Elric brothers. The writers of manga/anime don't touch that because those characters bring people to the show and the fans REALLY like those characters. This show does the unthinkable and just kills L midway through. No hesitation, just kill off one of the most endearing characters in the anime. People find it hard to continue on but I feel like that kind of story telling is SOOO important and necessary to happen. Shows that don't do this get really frustrating because you have to plot armor everyone in the show like Zoro's "nothing happened" scene. Its really annoying to see that kind of stuff because what a good way to end that character and have it really mean something. Also, there's a lot that this show cuts out from the manga. L's death is 25, and that's supposed to be the middle of the manga, so the show should realistically have gone to 50~ episodes but it cut a bunch of stuff. Probably after they got death threats from the community or something hahahaha

Naoki Urasawa's stories are alway so tense and thrilling. Love his writing and Monter is awesome (I prefer 20th century boys but probably because it was my first time experiencing his writing)

Yeah, this is one of the points that I don'tlike. The fact that the dates are so close together make it boderline magic that he was able to forge a perfect copy with perfect hand writing in 24 hours

So ends one of the big classics! Was great to watch your reactions to this one, as always. Possibly of interest (and I'm sure others will mention!): The manga has a slightly different ending, which may be more or less satisfying. That note about all humans going to "mu"/nothingness is reinforced more — making it clear that despite all his delusions of grandeur, Light was really just another human being, no different than the people he claimed to be judging. Here, Light is actually given a more sympathetic finale. Misa's story is given a little more closure in the manga, too.

Monster would be an amazing series to watch their reactions to! The themes and characters it gets to explore by moving a little more slowly are top-notch, and makes those big moments pay off so well.

The summary for this series does not compare to the actual story itself. I could never have imagined how hardcore it was going to be when I first watched. It still holds greatly today.
