I completely agree on the pacing part. I have been reading the manga since 2006-2007. I would wait for an arc to finish in the anime and then watch the anime always. As the anime was coming close dressrosa, I was so excited because its easily top5 arcs for me. As it started airing, I was really confused as to why people seem meh about it. After the arc finished in anime and then I watched it, the only answer was bad pacing. Good news tho that the pacing gets better after dressrosa.

Bummer that it was only 2 today, but that means two peaks on Monday!! 10 days.

I was so hoping this would be another triple episode! Next upload is gonna go CRAZY

No it's not. Sorry to break the good news here but the actual ratio of manga per episode of each next arc is lower than in Dressrosa and gets better only in the closing arc of Season 1 lol 😂 So it seems like the pacing of this arc is more of a meme among the community than a factual thing.

Even if the chapter per episode is lower/same HOW it is padded still matters. And Dressrosa has some of the most poorly done padding in the show. There are of course unfortunately still really badly paced episodes/scenes in the future but Dressrosa stands out as some of the worst.

And still the other arcs feel way better to watch because the padding in dressrosa is the worst. Nobody complains about extra padding or anime only scenes. Its just that the padding and extra stuff is placed very awfully that makes watching the arc boring. A full episode of nothing but anime only scenes would be better than splitting a zoro fight like this in two episodes

Emmanuel Paquin-Couture

I think it's a meme because in Dressrosa, the pacing starts to really feel slow, especially for weekly watchers. Dressrosa is where the problem started to become consistent, at least to me.

Yes....blood..... You two are evil

@Emmanuel Paquin-Couture Yep I second that. It started in Dressrosa that's why it's remembered this way. Personally I couldn't stand pacing in **** arc. I will never forget the scene where one small panel from the manga was animated into 2 minutes of anime. I was like "wtf is this 😬". That's why I stopped watching the anime during that arc and switched to the manga, best decision ever xD

Damn that pacing... I remember watching that weekly, the frustration was burning my soul. I can't wait for the climax, it gets a bit better and with the next arcs, the anime starts to adapt the manga much more smartly. Still be a lot of still frames, but overall the experience will be much better. Especially since they will use that to add a lot of little humoristic scenes. Then everything will get better and better and be adapted with a lot more creativity in mind... until it become surreal and surpass even a movie quality.

It really sucks what they did with the anime adaptation of Dressrosa. The post Sabo reveal episodes/race to Doffy/final battle episodes are the worst. It's bad enough watching after the fact, but IMAGINE WATCHING THIS 1 EPISODES A WEEK. It was a rough time... lmao. I hope they reanimate Dressrosa one day.
