Unfortunately going forward the pacing is almost always like this. It's starts in Dressrosa and stays the same for the upcoming arcs. The animation quality, the art itself will improve as well over the next few arcs but the pacing is still brutal. I'd HIGHLY recommend starting 3 episodes per reaction. The end of Dressrosa is infamous for being the worst pacing in the series hahaha cause while it's sad to say, this is how rough the pacing will be until you catch up to one of the more recent arcs.

Yeah, after Dressrosa the pacing gets maybe slightly better overall but the pacing of the anime is still pretty bad all-around. Agree with switching to One Pace.

Another advocate for switching to One Pace here. Not only does the bad pacing bore and frustrate the viewer, one understated thing it does is stretch out character gags and quirks. Since they are quite prominent already in One Piece, making them even more prominent through dragged out pacing warps character perception. Using Sanji's perv gag as an example; in the manga he just seems like a good guy who has a pervy streak, but the way his gag gets repeated and lengthened in the anime, sometimes it feels like Sanji is defined by being a creep, which ultimately hurts his character because he is so much more.

Sadly there is no settings cog. The only interface elements on the embedded video are the pause/play button, the fullscreen button (which resets the video), and timeline/seek bar. Interestingly enough the "| KAGUYA SAMA | Love Is War Reaction 2x10" has a youtube link, but One Piece doesn't.

One pace is literally the same show with better pacing. It's not like it's a different show. Also, there's so much good anime they haven't watched out there that they probably aren't too worried about finishing one show a bit faster. One pace has episode numbers

Switching to one pace isn't about finishing the show faster. It's about fixing the pacing so the show is a more enjoyable experience. They clearly say in the reaction that the pacing is getting to them, and one pace is a solution to that.

I like allowing them to take it at their own pace and watch each non-filler episode, but if they feel inclined I would be okay with them skipping seconds or minutes of the episode in their watch and/or edit if it's dragging - I certainly use the "jump forward 15 seconds" function when I'm watching, haha.

It wasn't on screen in this edited version but you can hear Zoro performing the Kincho with the Wado Ichimonji (when he unsheathes it a little and lets the guard hit the sheathe). If you remember he did this while standing with the crew after Robins I want to live moment. From my limited knowledge it's pretty much a way for a samurai to make a strong vow. I always like to think it's a vow to Kuina that he's going to overcome this enemy and keep his promise to her. Sorry for the wall of text but there's so many little details Oda adds throughout the series and that really activates my brain lol. If anyone knows more about that though please feel to correct me

Yeah…this is pretty much the worst pacing of the series. I’ve not gotten very far into the arc after this one, but I’ve heard there are moments in the few after that are kind of slow like this, but not awful.

When we get to the doffy fight, the REAL doffy fight, the pacing somewhat fixes. We're almost there. It's not much more. It's still a ways away and there's a couple more details that have to happen but we're almost full on peak finale fighting. And it's good. The payoff is great. You'll love it. The pacing isn't going to completely fix, but it'll get more manageable. You're doing good.

Watching along with them, I don’t think the pacing is horrible or exaggerated as other make out. Like sure we could go straight to the best moment but episodes and pacing like this builds anticipation and excitement. It’s clearly working and the build up pays off.

I don't think I minded the pacing overall, but it was that Bellamy fight. It frustrated me because it felt so dragged out. For me, the worst fight of One Piece.

Pacing in dressrosa was horrendous. I remember it was because they were trying to avoid getting too close to the manga. I cant wait for the one piece remake.

I remember being a weekly reader and there was a subset of fans who hated it wasn’t Rebecca who beat Diamanté and me just thinking “Man these people just don’t get it.” Both Scarlett (who hated violence) and Kyros (who did a thing that would devastate most people in actually killing someone) would never want Rebecca to be violent, hence Kyros as the Toy Soldier taught her a 100 percent defensive style. Both Kyros (using Trueno Bastard) and Scarlett (more like her gravestone) landing the finishing blows on the man who destroyed their lives and put Rebecca in the situation that she was in was a outstanding moment in the Dressrosa arc.
