My senior year in high school our baseball team missed state qualifiers by 2 games. It meant a lot to us that year bc 1) It was our coach's last year and 2) there was a bunch of re-districting stuff so our school wouldn't even play in the same league anymore. We always went to this pizza place after games win or lose. I cried a lot in the car ride there. A lot of guys actually cried while eating. I had played with a lot of those dude for almost half of my life at that point. This scene always reminds me of the time and effort it takes to be so passionate about something and the somber feeling when it doesn't work out.

That block was devastating. Our team wasn't crying, so you don't cry. The second you see a tear, everything comes out all at once. That end scene gets me every time. I swear, I was there.

This episode also really hit me in the feelings. In middle school and high school I played football (the american kind). During my last game in my last year of middle school, we were in the middle of a tournament. We didn't know it at the time, but we were up against a team that had made some sort of deal with the referees. The refs would not call them for blatant cheating, and call us for nothing. One of the opposing team actually spiked me with his cleats by stepping on my stomach when I had fallen during a play. Near the end of the game, our coaches had caught on to what was happening and were absolutely furious. I saw the head coach on the phone quietly talking to someone with a cold look on his face. Our defensive coordinator was shouting at the refs. I was on the field as a defensive linebacker and when I saw our coaches angry on our behalf, I burst into tears, in front of all the other kids. Some of the opposing team even laughed at me. It was probably one of the most embarrassing moments I had as a kid, but looking back, I'm just happy that we had such amazing coaches who were willing to stand up for us. Our team obviously lost and had to drop out of the tournament, but we heard the cheaters got caught a few rounds later trying to bribe more refs and were ejected from the tournament. It wasn't much consolation though, cuz we still couldn't play anymore. When I went into high school I didn't get much time on the field, so that season was effectively my last season as a starting player. It was frustrating on so many levels, but I grew to accept it. Life ain't always fair, and you just have to live with that. I love that they showed the boys crying about the loss. It is absolutely normal to feel frustration after a loss like that, and crying is okay! This episode healed me just a little bit. Great reaction as always!
