Definitely gonna watch the full version for this one. For me, this isn’t 1 great movie out of 10, it’s 1 life-changing movie out of 100. I wasn’t even a huge CSM fan before this. After witnessing this peak, I went home, rewatched season 1, started reading the manga, caught up in a matter of days, then bought more tickets and watched the movie several more times. And when it dropped on crunchyroll I started watching every single reaction video I could find. To say I’m obsessed would be a massive understatement 😭 I am so excited to see this reaction in the evening when I get some food and beer. What a beautiful Saturday

Makima is the worst lmao. Genuinely hate her after this movie haha. Also quick tidbit but Makima is actually moving her coffee cup to the toon of Reze's song when it's raining and it cuts to Makima drinking coffee. Basically suggesting she is watching them the entire time. Nvm the country mouse reference at the end. I interpret the spider grabbing the moth as Makima.

One little detail that you guys got wrong was the spider trapping the butterfly during the pool scene when you said "Denji got caught into Reze's web", it's not wrong but that butterfly is known to be highly poisonous despite its beauty so it was actually foreshadowing Reze fooling the serial killer into thinking she was just a prey.

A second watch will be amazing for you. So many subtle details in this movie. Makima telling Aki to use the angel devil for his own means is just what she does to denji. It almost makes me think Makima is grooming him for something but idk. I really like the movie hopping scene too, Showing how disconnected they both are from emotion.

Watching this movie for the second time with you two was great! The animation is so beautiful. To be honest I don't even care that much for the extreme action scenes but everything else is amazing. I just love CSM for the perfect blend of beauty, sadness, and creepiness.

Loved the standing ovation, Rezes last words being "Honestly, I've never been to school either" absolutely broke my heart. She was just like Denji. Abused, neglected and manipulated and just desperate to feel needed and loved. I love them both😭

You should react to the ending song video from the movie. It's called "Jane Doe" by Kenshi Yonezu, the same artist who composed the movie's soundtrack. There's an official music video in Youtube that incorporates scenes directly from the film. I recommend watching it with subtitles, since the lyrics are written from the perspectives of Denji and Reze. It's really good.

Actually only just caught it on the rewatch with you guys. Around 43min where Reze gets the raindrop going right into her eye, its a 1:1 with a scene from the movie 28 Days Later. And the changes in the person after the scene are pretty similar too lol

Reze in this movie is the best "acting" performance I've ever seen in an anime, from the character acting animation to the voice performance to even the musical themes that accompany her. And then add on the fact that she actually was putting on an "act" in-universe as the cherry on top. Truly masterful stuff.

Great movie with astonishing animation, as expected from MAPPA. Now that it’s over, I also recommend everyone check out Look Back — for me, it’s his best work. It’s totally different: more emotional and grounded. I also recommend the anthology series Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26, a collection of one-shot stories he made before Chainsaw Man. It’s available on Prime Video. If you’re curious about his other works, there’s also his first serialized manga, Fire Punch. Be warned though — it’s a very difficult read with some extremely disturbing and brutal scenes. Compared to Chainsaw Man, it’s way darker. The first chapter alone might not be for everyone, but if you’re curious, I still recommend checking it out.

Kenshi Yonezu has uploaded the anime-version music video to YouTube. He wrote and composed the *Chainsaw Man* TV anime opening theme, as well as the opening and ending themes for this movie; apparently, he kept the *Reze* arc manga right by his side while composing the music. The ending theme plays out like a sad duet between Denji and Reze. I’d love for you both to listen to it—and if possible, I’d really like to see your reactions!
