Syncing and watching the full length for 808 because its the only way

charlie

there are more commercial breaks here because this aired as an hour long special with 807 and 808 together it aired along side a couple big Dragon Ball episodes as well it was a great night to be an anime fan that night lol

NightmareModeGo

One Piece still undefeated at reusing flashbacks they already reused a mere handful of episodes ago.

charlie

Luffy saying he can't be King of the Pirates with out Sanji always makes me sob

mark charles

Welcome to flashback piece lol

Monkey D. Tomy

You skipped Part of the episode in the end. Original ending song so good with that emotional montage of them 😭 Great reaction tho 🙏

charlie

awe you guys skipped the outro montage that was still part of the episode you guys always gotta continue until it says To Be Continued

Svenja

Toei did us dirty with these 2 episodes

Lazy

This arc/fight made Sanji one of my favorite characters in One Piece, I'm a sucker for internal conflicts.

Jones

Yeah I was looking forward to them reacting to that part. That's like the nail that drives it home in terms of emotional impact. It's a big part of the episode.

mod14

Please tell them this, mods. Of course I wanna see their reaction, but even if they would watch privately, it’s fine.

EgregiousGrievous

I think this just shows you how much Luffy has grown as a Captain and a friend since the Usopp fight. Luffy really didn't understand how strong Usopp felt about the Merry and its ties to Kaya. Luffy IMO didn't handle it well as a Captain with Usopp's pain but we see he understood Sanji's pain perfectly. Sad fight but a very emotionally good episode.

Leighton

Neck and neck with Naruto

Mone

I just read a comment on the Edited Ver. that after that fight the person hated Sanji 🫣 This is so wild to me 🤯 Sanji is one of the best characters in OP 😭

Mone

When you girls started OP, these episodes were on my Can't-wait-till-they-get-here list and I remember thinking 'Pretty sure they'll cry their eyes out'. When I saw the thumbnail to the edited version I thought to myself that I'm so glad to re-watch this with you. The two of you don't disappoint when it comes to the heart of this show. And I say that after ugly crying myself. Again. 😭🫣🤣❤️🩵

Ynkku

we got destroyed, emotionally

Jose Rodriguez

Ah Sanji....anyway listen as much as I would LOVE for ya'll to be caught up asap AND give us 3-5 episodes every reaction session, I also wouldn't be upset if soon you guys switched to one episode per session. You're going to be caught up A LOT faster than you think and once you're there, it's dreadful having to wait. Just a thought of course, whatever you choose to do I'll gladly support.

We knew Oda liked to troll on Sanji's character, but this whole arc went waaay to far: - His father is being threatened to be killed at Baratie - His hands potentially being blown up if he even tries to do something "sketchy" (we know how important those are for him for cocking) - Him trying to protect his crew from being killed by an emperor because the position he was forced to be put in - And now his own captain is gonna starve to death to show him how much does he need and trust him, what does anyone do in that situation D: Sanji is being put in like 4 different check mates 😭😭😭

DaveJin

and heartbreaking :'D

DaveJin

One piece is by far the best story ever written.

MotU_Shosha

It's not that Luffy just did not want to fight his friend Sanji, I believe. We viewers obviously know that Sanji is forced to stay and I guess he can't tell Luffy and Nami what's going on. So he told them to back away, even risking to hurt them in the way he told this to them. Luffy obviously does not want to back away and so Sanji attacked Luffy and his serious attacks were meant to show Luffy how serious he is and that he really can't leave. But Luffy did not even defend himself to show Sanji how much he wants him back and that he would take what ever is necessary to get him back. What looked like a brutal beatdown for everyone else, was a kind of desperate conversation between those two that only them understood. Luffy still doesn't know and probably doesn't care why Sanji is not gonna leave with them, but I think he does know that Sanji must have a good reason to act as he did and he let Sanji know that he will let him do what ever he needs to do and that he is going to wait for Sanji and where he will be waiting if Sanji needs him. At least this was and still is my understanding of this encounter of those two. And although this might be wrong and I might be overinterpreting, I think the episode hits differently if you view at it like this.

Emily

truly I don’t understand it either like even luffy understood what sanji was doing 😭

Nick Essien

Why did you guys stop there?? lol you skipped the best montage at the end it was not an outro lol. Next time only stop watching after you see the To be continued screen :)

Wojciechu

I've been waiting for you to watch this episode basically since the beginning of your journey. It's absolutely devastating, it made cry even someone like me lol Now twice! I just love how much Oda puts himself into Luffy. He's such a great man.

Wojciechu

A man's dream will never die!

BossKingGodd

Nah I disagree. Usopp was 100% in the wrong in that situation. Luffy was actually trying to spare usopp feelings. Like Luffy told Usopp during the argument, he wasn’t the only one that was hurt, the entire crew was hurting over the marry and Usopp didn’t see that.

Lasombra

Sanji's act must have worked on them.

Dachi

ladies, i 100000000% would encourage getting familiar with the first ending of one piece. for sure don't force it. If it becomes a part of that beautiful memory and nostalgia, hearing that song adds critical emotional damage LMAO. It has probably gotten used very little in the episodes themselves, so the impact is grander IMO. Beautiful lyrics too! The last time i heard it (in some future ) within the first notes, it hit the heart strings soo badly. It felt like i was watching the ending, which is inevitable one day. Damn this episode packs a punch every time.

Haze

The episode 807 reminded me of the reason why I stopped watching the anime 13 years or so ago, what an atrocious pacing, they even made us rewatch scenes that were presented just a few episodes ago. Toei Animation doing what they do best. To be fair they got a lot better recently, but even so...

Louis Tamayo

To Be Continued needs to be seen for the reaction to end!!😭😭 amazing reaction tho!!

Abu

I think Hayley got too annoyed with flashbacks to go through a montage 🤣

Mone

Damn...Sanji leaned into the act too much I guess 🙃 This made me laugh, thanks 😂🙌🏻

Ocean Flan

These 2 episodes were actually released on the same night: October 1, 2017. It was a 2 episode special airing. They crammed a lot of flashback into the first episode to ensure everyone knew the history of Luffy and Sanji for the heartbreaking fight. It's also why there's extra transition/breaks as you mentioned! They had extra commercial breaks since it was an hour long special.

diri

yeah luffy's voice actress really did cry while voicing that scene and the voice crack works so well.... and of course post-timeskip luffy is even more sensitive to losing people than before. i remember the first time i saw nami say "sanji" instead of "sanji-kun" and slap him i gasped out loud

Tay mahmood

oh guuuuys. you skipped the last part, which for me was like the goodbye montage we got for the going merry, but this time it was for sanji and the crew. i was bawling by the end of it. either way. loved the reaction!!

foxfire

The flashbacks get worse and worse as we go one. It's not for plot, it's for padding. It's filler. Also, the brothers still have lust as that couldn't be removed or they wouldn't reproduce and they need to do that to keep the bloodline going.

Luis Cano

I disagree too, for many reasons that many people have explained before so idk if I should explain them. But I am interested on what you think Luffy should have done back then, it'd be way more interesting to debate on your proposal since it would be newer, instead of the already very-analyzed Usopp vs Luffy

Rapidazh

Completely agree

🔥xXZephyrus2002Xx🔥

Basically the flashbacks was to remind us that Sanji still has hate for his family and what he said to luffy was a lie just to protect him and Zeff...cause even Sanji knew that if he wanted to leave he can't do that because his family knows about Zeff, so they can basically kill him anytime they want if Sanji refuse to marry into big mom's family, also he had those dumb bombs strapped around his rists so if he were to resist BOOM bye bye Cooking...he knows that Luffy would not give up on him so the only way to get him to understand was to kick his ass(as horrible as it sounds). Luffy is too damn stubborn to give up on him and Sanji knows that after so long...therefore, he had to do what he had to do. it's like you said he's a caged animal

Keegan

This Episode is a brutal watch even the second time. I got irrationally angry which goes to show how much Oda has made me care about these characters, I cant help but get mad and think, why doesn't Nami think for a moment about why Sanji might be acting this way, Luffy is an idiot, but Nami isn't. Did she really just running up to him when he went willingly was a good idea, that they wouldn't have any measures in place to prevent him from just running, and even if he tried to run why didn't he try to escape with her in the first place. Luffy's speech at the end is so heart wrenching though, love this arc.

Saya Scarlet

I've said it a million times, and I will keep on saying it: This show needs to end with the Memories OST.
