If it was someone else, would comment I am first but I would never

"Omoikaze" is me favorite song in the entire series (so far). It's so beautiful. I'm still trying to learn a cover of it on piano.

The best part about period pieces, whether fictional or real, is that rebels exist no matter the era.

I believe the officer was also the same guy in the previous episode who prevented the soldiers from retaliating against the village when they were poisoned.

Genuinely the shortest love story that makes me cry every time

Fun thing about the nickname Gaoshun gives Maomao: You might have seen folks say that mao (猫) means cat, so Maomao's name (猫猫) literally means "cat cat," or really just cat. It's also common for older folks to prepend xiao (小), or "small," to a younger person's name as a nickname, which is why Gaoshun calls her Xiaomao (小猫). However, a funny thing here is that 小猫 means "kitten," so every time Gaoshun calls her Xiaomao with a straight face just know that he's calling her kitten.

Episode 3 always makes me cry. Also I believe they are both seen in beginning of episode 2. We see him stop the attack on the village and she is sitting reading a letter.

Jinshi's one of those guys who gets attracted to the stink eye, esp Maomao's stink eye. He's constantly looking for ways to ragebait Maomao into giving him the stink eye. Personally I'd back off and be professional, especially since it's almost like a work place/living compound at the rear palace. But Jinshi be doing Jinshi things... One of my favorite lines of the show: if love makes a woman beautiful, what kind of medicine would it make?

Luke Wayman

Such a beautiful love story.

"If love makes a woman beautiful, what kind of medicine would it make?" in just 3 episodes this show has given us mystery, comedy, horror, and it's lighthearted--tears and laughter all around. I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH!

That’s interesting. The women seem to make the best of things but it’s how things work and it’s still tragic
