It's kinda weird hearing the original voice actors after being so used to the English dubbed version. Hearing someone other than Johnny Yong Bosch voice Lelouch is still a little hard to get used to, kinda similar to the English voice of Goku.

In mecha anime, it's common for robot makers to pick pilots off the street just because. It makes for good drama where these unskilled pilots grow as they continue to experience battle. It's a staple in the genre, so I wouldn't overthink them allowing Suzaku to pilot the Lancelot. It's just to move the plot along.

suzaku have the best score on knightmare simulator among the ''honorary britannians''(japanese) and the special unit can't use a real britannian on a experimental machine, he was the best option

They wanted Jeremiah to do it, but he said nah to the communication and went to the 'front lines' so that's why they went to a random soldier instead (he also apparently scored really high on the tests)

That's how it usually happens in these cases. No other seasoned pilot is available, engineers see a rando on the street, rando happens to have a good aptitude for piloting giant/real robots.

Usually the big counter argument is that 'Well Suzaku had top marks, and was a soldier!' Well guess what, A person can ace a driving test 10 times in a row, actually driving a Ferrari will still be hard! I don't mind the trope all I really don't, but I also admit it's not realistic. But neither is optical-based manipulation magic haha.

idk why you think it doesn't make sense .. all they cared about was to collect data for their machine so they just used the best available pilot which happened to be suzaku and once they saw how compatible and good of a pilot he was he was allowed to keep piloting it.
