YO IT IS WILD THAT WE GOT BACK TO BACK BARS Yesterday with CG ep8 introduction of Black Knights, and Zero saying "the only people who should kill are those prepared to die themselves!" Today, OP ep878, Shanks vs Higuma recap, "put your life on the line. Now that you've drawn your pistol, put your life on the line. I'm saying those aren't for threatening people." Then Lucky Roo took the hint and just BOOM, "you threaten my captain...well, play stupid games win stupid prizes, FAFO." OP has been good since the very beginning. You really don't have to wait till Water 7/Enies Lobby. BACK TO BACK BARS FROM LULU AND SHANKS!!

Buckle up for some more flashbacks. It is understandable as this was an ok point for Toei to slow down their pace before they catched up to the manga. And it was nearly 20 years at that point since the Anime started airing so it was a neat fresh up of the story. I didn't like it storyflow wise but accepted it more or less.

This was just the media saying he might as well be the fifth emperor. Ultimatley Luffy is not in the territorial stalemate between the Emperors, Navy and warlords that has been the status quo for a long time

The fifth emperor thing is just Morgans making stuff big news. The marines / World Government didn't declare any additional emperors. So, it's not an official thing. Katakuri's bounty is 1,057,000,000. So, Luffy beats him by quite a bit.

Just FYI, the whole "Fifth emperor of the sea" thing is just something that Morgans probably named him in the article. By no means is it official. Because officially speaking, there are only FOUR actual emperors. Because they have to be recognized by the government as an emperor. The government has not recognized Luffy as an emperor yet.

The "yon" in Yonko means 4. Morgans is just stirring the pot as usual, otherwise the Emperors would have to start being called "Goko", and that doesn't hit as hard imo.

I am starting to realize how much power Big News Morgan has. Luffy is clearly not recognized by WG as an emperor just Morgan puts this label on him. It is important to understand how Morgan works. He is a fan of people who makes mess and creates big news. WG does not control Big News Morgan, he publishes what makes his news popular- big stories and most of the time adjusted or exaggerated. Therefore he makes Luffy mastermind. Morgan has a huge power to spread news and stories very quickly and creates image of people in the news. For ordinary people, Lufffy must look like a scary pirate based on news. I think Morgan will play a huge role in the future.

He's obviously not an actual Emperor. It's a cultural attachment that demands respect when it becomes mainstream AND self-evident, both of which aren't the case. It was Morgans jumping the gun for hype, and Akainu actually blasphemed Morgans for being ridiculous when he read the newspaper, in the manga. Luffy at this point is still FAR from being an Emperor; however, the reason for the hype made sense given the narrative that was spun and the 75% truth of the entire matter. They did screw up Big Mom and Totto Land, lol. On their OWN turf! And took down their No.2 and another general. Kept outwitting them too. Infiltrating crazy places they shouldn't have been able to. So, it makes sense that the newspaper would go off. But it doesn't mean that what it prints is sensibly accurate. It is NOT an official status.
