YO IT IS WILD THAT WE GOT BACK TO BACK BARS Yesterday with CG ep8 introduction of Black Knights, and Zero saying "the only people who should kill are those prepared to die themselves!" Today, OP ep878, Shanks vs Higuma recap, "put your life on the line. Now that you've drawn your pistol, put your life on the line. I'm saying those aren't for threatening people." Then Lucky Roo took the hint and just BOOM, "you threaten my captain...well, play stupid games win stupid prizes, FAFO." OP has been good since the very beginning. You really don't have to wait till Water 7/Enies Lobby. BACK TO BACK BARS FROM LULU AND SHANKS!!

So Morgans’ opinion in his newspaper isn’t the “official” acknowledgment of Luffy as a Fifth Emperor. Morgans is basically making a theory based on Luffy’s deeds, what’s being said about him (Luffy having a fleet of over 3,000 people and all of his other accomplishments) and what Morgans actually witnessed, like Luffy destroying Whole Cake Island and escaping alive. Morgans is essentially making a bet and saying that Luffy could be recognized as a Fifth Emperor.

Katakuri's bounty is 1,057,000,000 so Luffy actually surpassed his bounty by quite a bit albeit to massive embellishment by Morgans

For Luffy being named "the fifth emperor", that is just Morgans putting a headline/kind of a puff piece about Luffy and what happened on Whole Cake. To the pirate world and those with power close to the top, Luffy is not actually an emperor or even considered on that level (which is fair, if he was, they would not have fled Whole Cake, Luffy would have beaten Big Mom and taken that spot). Another thing is the world has established these sub-groups/positions that are more or less set in stone, FOUR emperors, SEVEN warlords, while not stated in title there are only ever 1 fleet admiral and 3 admirals for the navy. The number can go down, say one is defeated, removed, steps down, but then a replacement is found to fill the void

Its funny because from Morgan's (news guy) perspective, he went to a tea party that no one dares disturbs.. saw luffy come out of nowhere, attack big mom, take the groom, beat up her top children, saw germa 66, jinbei and capone basically instantly betray her and help luffy, then the place is bombed and collapses, and luffy leaves.. he saw her in a rage chasing but not catching luffy crew lol.. he Didnt see how hurt luffy was while escaping either.. so as the article writer it makes sense he would hype luffy up crazy lol.. also he already mentioned he think the worst generation will produce a new pirate king (so he is a fan) lol

Honestly, the succeeding arcs after Reverie are peak after peak. Btw, Wano is the longest arc in One Piece. It took 4 years to finish on the manga. Can't wait for Kaido to show why he's called the strongest creature in the world. That man is an absolute beast. Well, he's the King of the Beast after all.

Here comes my favorite arc. Not Reverie. Wannoooooo You two are going to love it. It's got some pacing issues, so be ready. It's very long, but the payoffs are phenomenal. Oh I can't wait. Ive been waiting so long to catch back up. I didn't want to keep watching because I wanted to watch along with a reaction channel to see if that would be a different experience watching the show or not. Wano and then you're where I am in the show. I really want you two to comment on what you think of the art direction they go with in Wano when we get there! Please pay attention to that aspect! It's the arc... I think... they were on when they did the fanletter episode or shortly after! IMO Wano is a masterclass in animation! Cant wait for you two to see it.

Remember, if we just count the new world, Luffy has Fishman Island, Dressrosa, Brownbeard's crew, Zou, and a grand fleet of almost 6,000 pirates. It's not as much territory and power as other emperors but Luffy has a significant power base. Even if he doesn't want one.

Meanwhile Luffy: “I’m not here to rule anyone.” proceeds to punch a celestial dragon, a Yonko, takes down 3 schubukai, liberates two countries, recruit half the damn world, start a war with the Government, and accidentally become a global threat. Bro didn’t apply for the position.

the reason it says four emperors is (at least partially, no spoilers) that the japanese title is Yonko, which contains the word yon= four, followed by kō= emperor. The "four" in four emperors is basically baked into the title itself. (same with the number 7 in the seven warlords I believe). think of it like the title "the seven wonders of the world". Its implicit in the title of being a wonder of the world that it is one of seven wonders. This would mean that if a new wonder was crowned, if would kinda break the old title in a way. the eighth seventh wonder of the world, kinda :D . It doesn't quite make sense, like having a fifth book in a quartet. this adds an extra "dark horse" or "up and comer" energy to the news as well, he is the fifth fourth emperor, and as such breaks the entire system, and its something that sticks out like a sore thumb
