Meimei was in love with Lakan and wanted him to buy her out. That's why she tells him "If it is me who you desire, I will accept without hesitation." But she knew if he had the chance to buy out Fengxian he would.

Not a bad idea watching the OP and ED on the final episode of each series or at least after they change. Probably better to watch them after finishing the episode though, since you managed to avoid seeing her dancing outfit in the opening right up until the final episode. :)

They didn’t show it but why maomao does not really like Laken is mainly cause he scared her as a child. The scene where it showed him on the ground was what happened but to tell you what all went down; Laken had just gotten beaten by granny and so he was bloody and bruised and was in an ally way. That was when he looked over to see little maomao, and seeing a creepy man bloody, bruised and in an ally way reaching towards her as a child. It really scared her 😂

It shows characters that have yet to be introduced, which can be considered a spoiler, but I'd say it's vague enough for first time watchers to not be able to figure anything out, kind of like the very first opening. Up to them though!

Tragically beautiful is right. I'm so happy Lakan and Fengxian were reunited, but it's under such terrible circumstances. The way he sees her as beautiful as the day he lost her...then he starts crying - it gets me every time 😭. It's one of my favorite scenes in the entire show. I hope they can enjoy the time that they have together 🥲 About Maomao's pinky, the line you're referring to Haylee, is "If love makes a woman beautiful, what kind of medicine would it make?" Definitely a lot of layers in that question. She looks at her pinky multiple times throughout the show. I'd have to go back and look at all the times she does, but every time it seems to be when it involves something about love. And the moment at the end with Maomao and Jinshi is so cute! Maomao is such a tease and she doesn't even know it (or does she?). What a beautiful finale to Season 1! Absolute cinema. On to Season 2!

I think its also what she mentioned about how no matter how hard she works for the respect of Luomen who she respects so much, the only person Luomen compliments without caveat or condition is Lakan. So there is also a tinge of jealousy there.

I mean, if I were little Maomao I would also lose my shit when Lakan approaching with blood all over his face, traumatized. 😂 Then he kept stalking her, so of course Maomao felt disgusted. Plus she's a bit jealous about Lakan's ability, he's basically a genius without trying much, unlike Maomao who had to learn things from Luomen... Also, Maomao was being nice enough to Fengxian, after she neglected her, getting nightmare from her finger being cut, she was still taking care her mom's sickness even though Fengxian used to yell her to get out from the room. If I were her, I wouldn't want to get close to Fengxian or acknowledge that she's the mom. Lakan and Fengxian's story was romantic and tragic, but in a child's perspective, it's awful. Using child as an excuse to get your man... 🥲 (even though it's fair to think that Fengxian must got the same experience too as she said she didn't have a mom) No wonder Maomao get attached to Luomen so much.

I think Fengxian knew a pregnancy would completely end the bidding war over her, allowing Lakan to buy her out at a price he could afford. Kind of like the situation in Episode 3. But by the time Fengxian knew she was pregnant, he was gone and then stuck abroad. Really tragic situation, and does amplify Maomao's criticism that he doesn't make predictions or really act on information. Fengxian was the one with the strategy, but he wasn't there to play his role. That being said, Fengxian should've explained the plan somehow.

I know that, but as you said, Fengxian could tell the plan. The problem with Fengxian is her pride, that was mentioned by other characters in the story several times. But that's one of reason why Lakan fell in love with her, so 🤷‍♀️ She was smart enough to calculate the best day to get pregnant but not humble enough to just tell the truth.

Says so much about Maomao’s big heart. She didn’t have her parents during her formative years and barely had a relationship with them but she still acknowledges them and wishes everyone the best. 🥺

Season 2’s opening songs are so good I think it’s fine if they watch. The plot of the show is so thick that the openings don’t give off clear spoilers
