At this point the anime was getting to close to the manga so do expect some dragged moments. Nonetheless, to me is still the very enjoyable and lovable one piece and characters

one piece gets really "real" some times, do not forget, stuff like this is actually happening in our world... i know you do not want politics on this but, in future chapters it is gonna be more and more real, the pain, the problems, and the politics.

I've said it before but Wano, for as amazing as it can be, is the most recent time that stopped me from watching the show. Weekly with these kinds of pacing issues just isn't sustainable (to me at least). Being able to watch many episodes does alleviate that pain a lot at least. I haven't personally watched the future arcs in the anime, but whatever arc you hit that they are currently in, I would personally recommend to finally put One Piece down and pick it up once that arc is complete (plus post-arc episodes) and then do those episodes in your current format. I'm not on Discord so I'm not sure how the discussion on this has gone on there, if at all, but that would be my recommendation, since Toei, while actively spending more time/money on the production of One Piece once Wano hits, they made the pacing WORSE at times. Just food for thought since you're probably under a year away from finally catching up to current episodes airing.

Current pacing is completely fine imo. We consistently get 1 episode per chapter and now with the regular breaks, the animation also got even better. I don't see any real advantage to waiting to binge an arc, especially given the long breaks Toei uses nowadays and given that it just doesn't make sense to wait from a creator standpoint

Yes this Wano pacing was difficult for us to watch week-to-week but the girls are enjoying it and that’s cool. As they say, more One Piece is always a good thing 😁

To answer your question about what Luffy was throwing in the ring, that was salt. As for what it signifies, in sumo the wrestlers will spread salt within the ring to purify it and ward off evil spirits.

I'd say that any anime adaptation less than 1.5 chapters worth of content from a manga is simply too little for good pacing in any anime. Just because its better than the 75% of a chapter than an arc like Wano got just means its better, not good.

I'm actually curious about the sumo fights that they have within the strawhats, cause I'm surprised that Luffy only has victories against Ussop, like Ussop and Franky would be in if there's a sumo fight (I mean, you are almost naked wearing only the mawashi [the loincloth] so Franky would love that), Chopper would be influenced by ussop and luffy (tho maybe robin wouldn't like it and complain if Chopper wants to fight), Robin and Nami would not agree to a sumo fight, neither Zoro but I think maybe he could be convinced by the rest if they push and push (bah-dum-crash) him to join, while brook...I don't think he has the mass to join and it would be weird to see a bare skeleton and finally, Sanji, I actually don't see Sanji join in unless one of the girls ask him to join, tho he has the leg strenght to be good sumo wrestler. So that's why I was surprised that it's only against ussop and not the rest XD

2026-10-23 10:00 I wasn't going to answer but I had kind of a shitty day and this pissed me off. First english isn't my native language nor do I live in an english speaking country. Second Yes, I would probably use boys or guys. I know guys can be used with both genders but when I learned english it was mostly used with males and I feels weird using it with females. Same as using women here which feels weirder. Third the fact that you felt the need to come and white-knight a random positive comment over something as innocent and harmless as this is baffling to me. Yes I use girls because they are young woman and it's not derogatory or degrading. If they feel I'm being disrespectful they'll let me know. People like you are who make others think twice before posting anything. Shame on you.

Lots of great real world sumo references in this! Sumo is my all time favourite sport!! What a horrible shame about the pacing though. Ironically a Sumo match rarely lasts longer than 30 seconds!
