Well yeah that's a combination of his jadedness and his hatred for Britannia, it was a noble man so he is part of the Britannia empire, he is extending his hatred of the empire onto the nobles that used the empires power to oppress others. Imo one big difference between Lelouch and Light is how they see themselves. Lelouch builds himself up as a symbol even as a Messiah like figure but it's all just an act, a mask he wears for the sake of his goal. He thinks well of himself and believes his goal to be the greater good and worth all those sacrifices but at the end of the day he knows he is human, he doesn't see himself as infallible and he is ready to put himself on the line to achieve his goal.
