The end of Act 1!

Mind you, the anime gave Luffy sooo much grace😭 In the manga the fight between him and Kaido was short. Luffy got humbled really quick and Kaido didn't feel any of his hits😭😭 I'll commend Luffy for having the balls tho, that's my goat😭

The way I like to think about One Piece is that the Straw Hats are like a startup trying to break into the top 1% of their world. That's why we keep seeing so many people with Conqueror's Haki. It's not that they're common, it's that Luffy himself belongs to that top 1%, and as a result, he keeps crossing paths with other people who belong to that same elite group.

Your anime gave Luffy “grace” comment makes no sense. Obviously the anime will extend things, like the number of punches Luffy lands to stretch out the episode runtime and showcase high-budget animation. That’s why it’s anime. That’s not giving Luffy grace.

One thing about Conqueror's Haki so you understand. It is indeed rare for people living in the One Piece universe. As viewers and readers, having a general view of the world makes it seem common, but if you consider the living characters who currently possess Conqueror's Haki, it's a small number compared to the many characters who actually fight in the series.

I don’t really understand why people are saying this isn’t true. It’s not that Luffy hit more or less. Who cares. The point is he punches Kaido a bunch in both but unlike in the anime Kaido doesn’t shoot a bunch of fireballs back or really fight back at all. When Luffy announces himself he shoot one blast. One. Kinda halfheartedly. Because he’s super drunk. Then Luffy punches him a bunch. He changes to his regular form. Luffy goes gear 4 punches him a bunch. Stands up. Then one shots Luffy. This is drawn out and badly paced. It’s fine to like the anime. I like the anime! But don’t pretend it doesn’t have legitimate issues.

Sorry to say, but as much as this was painful to watch for many of us. Luffy himself needed to understand there's levels to this😭. Kaido is feared by even the world goverment for a reason. No matter what the circumstance, Luffy had no right to go head on one on one without a plan😪

Of land, sea and air, Kaido is the strongest creature. If it's a one on one, bet on Kaido. After Kaido transformed back to human form, Luffy goes into G4 & charges at Kaido. The scene in the anime was dragged out which isn't a bad idea. But it's just a different way of showing Kaido's power to instantaneous speed blitz of a one shot TKO. Some context about Asian dragons: In most Asian legends, dragons are basically treated as god like beings that control ocean, winds, lightning, and other aspects of weather. Btw who's another character that brings storms & high winds? Yall don't know how the Asian community felt when Garp revealed Dragon's name post-Enies Lobby, "OK what he did at Loguetown makes sense now, his powers are similar to a dragon's." And then the ASL flashback post-Marineford showing Dragon making a path for Grey Terminal people, so it's just further proof of what we know based on stories we heard as children. Westerners who don't know Asian myths & folklore are kinda debuffed if you want to figure out a character's motives, what they want to do next, theory craft etc, so you're lacking context which is myths and folklore. But as someone who grew up listening to these myths & folklore, I like talking about and sharing these stories & my culture to people who don't know. It's probably even more shocking to you guys seeing Asian/oriental dragons, and you haven't gotten into Dragon Ball which turned the shonen genre into what it is today. Dragon Ball is heavily based off of Chinese culture & Journey to the West, especially og Dragon Ball (the show that brought anime from the east on its "Journey to the West"). May he rest in peace but Akira Toriyama-sensei was a huge fan of Journey to the West. Oda-sensei is a fan of Dragon Ball AND Journey to the West. One Piece is modern day version of Journey to the West. Thank you for reading my rant.

This is where the anime starts taking creative liberties with the auras and stuff. I wouldn't take it too seriously. Like when Kaido stands up, and a dragon thing goes into his club, like that's not actually happening, it's just to look cool. And the red aura around Luffy, it's not a new power or anything. I'm not a fan of it, but oh well!

Bruh, MC needs to get humbled sometimes because they are not perfect. And it's so humane getting your emotions triggered and wanna beat up your enemy because you're super angry and they totally showed Luffy's soooo enraged which BTW RARELY HAPPENS. Just because you know he will lose doesn't mean he didn't learn. He was at the point where he thinks Tama was hurt/killed and his friends were hurt. It was kinda the same as Luffy punching freaking Charlos, it's a do or die! Viewers are not much affected compared to the characters because we all freaking know what will happen and we can just create alternate universe in our brain lol

Act one has ended. Next episode act 2 will start. I can recommend a movie break after act 2 to watch the two movies Gold and Stampede. Then you would be up to date with the movies compared to the episodes you are watching
