Act Two has begun!It's been a couple episodes since we got any Japanese cultural references for me to explain, and there isn't much today either, but I guess I could talk about a few things. Devon has a Dog Dog fruit, mythical model Nine-tailed Fox. The nine-tailed fox is an Asian mythical creature, so well known you may already know it, but in the Japanese context they are supposed to gain a tail as they gain wisdom and age. When they finally have nine tails, they are supposed to become deities who gain powers such as fire control, all seeing vision, shapeshifting and creating illusions. The mountain that Ashura and Dogstorm fought on, Atama Yama, translates to Mt. Head, probably named that way due to the fact that there is one cherry blossom tree on the hill top similar to a topknot. Ushimitsu Kozou (the Robin Hood) is based off of the legend Nezumi Kozou, which was the nickname for a person called Jirokichi Nakamura in Edo period who was a thief who stole from the very rich for about 15 years. He actually did not give his money to the poor, but it was believed that way due to his targeting only the daimyo and he was seen as a hero in the lower class community. He was executed and humiliated in death by being tied to a horse and paraded in the town. And just a side note, I don't know what the subtitles say but the phrase that the one samurai kept repeating when Nami and Shinobu were spying on the conversation, that is like a stereotypical "script" that bad guys say in theatre or films based off of Edo. So it's like funny because Oda is just making this side character "bad guy" just repeat the one phrase everyone knows typical bad guys say.

Blackbeard is like a real world pirate. Picking his fights and being opportunistic. He is probably the most clever player pursuing the throne. They are using sea prism cuffs but somehow they do not drain completely their energy, which I do not understand. I do not think that prison workout is the way to defeat Kaido. I believe that no matter how physically strong Luffy get it won't work. Shanks does not seem extremely physically strong but he still clashed with Kaido and stopped him from going to Marineford.
