It feels like we’re flying through this arc because I had to watch it weekly for 4 years and so being at 918, 2 off 920 these episodes went by so slow but weren’t horrible.

Blackbeard might be one of the most realistic pirates in the show. He also is heavily influenced by the actual Blackbeard Edward Teach, or Thatch depending on the document read. I’ve always found it interesting that the crew he was on was Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) and the person he killed to leave the crew was Thatch. I genuinely have always loved how Oda ties in real world things like this into his story and characters.

I want to add onto this, in episode 515 or the last episode in pre time skip doffy is talking about this. So in episode 725 or around there, there is a scene or thriller bark pirate ship sailing away from the island where hawkins, kidd and apoo are discussing their alliance. When this is happening there is dialogue and I'm paraphrasing "How did they find out about our alliance, whose this freelance "Absa" " which is absaloms freelancer alias Sobin sbs oda said pretty much what you said, Absalom was at marjneford he used his DF and snuck into the war from morias ship to write paper about the war, and remember absaloms clear clear fruit makes anything he touches invisible, and how he saved moria. Sorry I'm not trying to comment jack I just get excited and go into somewhat detail.

Someone explain this 2:10 to me. Perona just floated to the door, meaning she's in her spirit form & her real body is laying down somewhere. So it's gotta be an animation mistake right? Fellow manga readers...did she push it open in the manga? Since she's using her fruit abilities, and not in her real body, why push the door? Just pass through it. Her body is basically intangible and she cannot be touched or hurt unless you find her real body. But I wonder if sea prism can touch her spirit body? Perona is the absolute tsundere queen! For those who don't get the character tropes, tsunderes are basically the Sour Patch Kids characters, sour and then sweet. Perona didn't know how to convey her gratitude so she argued about BS like "I cooked for you" when Mihawk cooked more. That's the tsun part. Then Mihawk's "be careful on your way" broke her tsun/sourness and she turned into dere/sweet.

Blackbeard is an opportunistic by nature. He's gotten to where he's currently at in post timeskip due to keeping his head low for most of his pirate life, striking & making moves when needed (example; killing Thatch for the Yami-Yami no mi) You guys are correct in your post-917 theory crafting & BB's current timeskip activities; sit back, hunt down DF users & let the prominent figures fight each other. Strike when the time is right. I do agree, Oda gave BB too much aura in his timeskip design xD

I really love teach. He has serious Long John Silver vibes in that he is a 100% pirates pirates but he isn't out to endulge in suffering or torment for the sake of it, but ratehr in pursuit of his dream. A great parralel for Luffy.
