I Tried a Hairbrained Shape Key Idea in Geometry Nodes… and It Worked

In this Blender tutorial, I walk you through a creative method I discovered for importing and using shape keys inside Geometry Nodes. I show how to create a grid of switch models and randomly assign different shape key states to each instance using a repeat zone, bounding box math, and random boolean switching. Along the way, I cover key concepts like spacing duplicates in a grid using bounding box dimensions, using iteration indices to control position, and capturing shape key states with bake nodes. I also share a free extension I wrote that automates the shape key baking process for use in Geometry Nodes. This is a great workflow for digital artists, animators, and Blender users looking to bring parametric control and randomness to shape key-driven animations. #b3d #blender3d #geometrynodes #shapekeys #proceduralmodeling #digitalart #animationtools #blenderaddon #bakingworkflow #switchmodel Get node_bake_shapes extension from my repository: https://johnnygizmo.github.io/extensions/ Support Via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/johnnymatthews 00:00 - Introduction 00:22 - Setting Up The Model 02:00 - Making An Array of Switches 09:23 - Bring In the ShapeKeys 12:58 - A Handy Add On 14:57 - Conclusion
