First thing I notice is that your GPU driver isn’t the latest. The log shows 32.0.101.6737 while the most recent Intel Iris Xe driver is 32.0.101.7028.

The report log being from a DX11 run, it doesn’t reveal much about the DX12 crash.

As you certainly noticed, the included “Lucid Lust DX11.bat” is there exactly for a case like yours, it makes it easy to launch in DX11 if DX12 isn’t compatible with your system on the current build, so you did the right thing already. After a little search on Google, I read that some devices with Intel Iris Xe GPUs sometimes run into issues with newer game features under DX12, so sticking with DX11 is perfectly fine.

But I understand that DX11 may run a bit slower than DX12, but again, DX11 is still (and will still be) fully supported, so apart from the optimization gain, you will not be missing out on anything. And even if you still need to stick with DX11 in the future, it should improve by a LOT starting next version thanks to the new config system! ♥

Oh yeah sorry for that, Lucid Chat currently needs a (very) good GPU, I absolutely should have mentioned it somewhere.

For the GPU requirement, I’m not exactly sure. For now, the lowest GPUs it has been running on/thoroughly tested with are:
16GB AMD 6800XT
12GB RTX 4070

I have some old computers with older GPUs in stock, so I will make sure to test with them + make Lucid Chat evolve to be able to run on weaker GPUs as soon as I get time to go back to work on Lucid Chat, but for now, this v0.1 will stay like this for a while (as most modules will before Lucid Lust v1.0 is achieved haha).

Q: Where is the scenario button for the girl creator?
A: The animations and moods are now on the Save&Load screen, on the left side of the character/card view. This makes things a bit cleaner since the old scenario menu only handled previews, not customization, and as you can see, a lot more menus were added (and there is STILL more to come).

Q: Are you planning on making clothing options available in the creator soon?

Request: Nipple and areola shape sliders
A: Currently, as for the pussy and teeth for example, there are only preset shape selections available (and more will come), but in the future, I’ll add a shape-creator tool that lets you make custom shapes and load/save/share them as mod! But for now, until custom presets become a thing, you can still tell me about what you think is missing! The ultimate goal stays the same: giving you all the power to create anything you can imagine haha.

Q: How do I turn the hair quality down to help with performance?
A: You can lower the hair quality by opening the config file from the main menu settings (click the “OPEN CONFIGURATION FILE” button). Then edit the line that says “HairQuality” to “HairQuality = lowest”, that’ll set it to the lowest quality for smoother performance. Then you have to restart your game to make changes take effect; don’t worry, v0.5.5 will have an easier in-game setting for this.

You can also modify a lot more things, you can for example, set “HairShadows = false” to also make the hair not render shadows, which can only help you get more performance haha.

Q: On the Save/Load screen, what does the bottom slider do?
A: That one changes the card background, the first one being the built-in ones, and any custom ones you add after that. To use your own, just drop square images into the folder -> AppData\LocalLow\Lucid Lust\Lucid Lust\backgrounds

Q: I only have 5 poses on the Save/Load screen. Is that intentional?
A: Yep! Those poses are just for quick demonstrations of your character in action. Way more poses and moods are (and will be) available in the Scenario Creator, but even in the Scenario Creator, what’s there right now is less than 1% of what’s planned for v1.0! Animations have still not been a big focus in the project as of right now.

Hey Kat! I’ve missed your content, I’m so happy that you’re still following my project haha!
It looks like something in your old save data got corrupted, probably due to an oversight on my end in the character codes across versions. Since you weren’t able to use any version with character cards before, the new system is now trying to convert your old character codes into cards… and getting stuck in the process.

Here is what you can do!
If you want to keep all your characters:
You need to install the previous version, copy/paste all your character codes into a text file, then proceed to delete them all. This will get rid of this bug in the newest version, since it will simply convert nothing and set the flag as “converting done”, meaning that it will never try to convert anything again. Then you will be able to reimport all the codes that still work one by one (and codes that don’t work will either refuse to be added or load a bugged character).

And if you don’t care about previous characters, I… completely forgot to put the “delete all saved data” button back into the revamped main menu settings. It was there until v0.5.4, and I genuinely don’t know why I forgot it when I rebuilt the settings menu right before releasing v0.5.5. Not my brightest moment.
You can either wait for v0.5.6 (where the button will return, and YES, v0.5.6 and future versions will now also be for Mac and Linux, since I’ve done all the heavy compatibility work YAY!) or you can, of course, install the previous version to delete your character data from there.

I’m not very familiar with Mac, so I can’t really guide you through removing the saved data from outside the software, which would’ve been the simplest solution given the situation. But even if I were, I wouldn’t want to make anyone tamper with hidden files that could cause other problems. I’m very sorry for the inconvenience!

And just so you know, v0.5.6 is planned for release at the end of December.

The black mannequin is 100% on purpose; it also happens on Windows. It’s not to set a “default” character and make you load a character card over it. I will replace this in the future with something like a silhouette and an integration mark in the middle to better convey the fact that freshly spawned characters are just empty shells haha.

The thing is, I’ve got Mac users telling me that this new version worked perfectly for them. So I’m still feeling like it’s due to old save data hidden somewhere.. I really hope that the “delete all saved data” I’ve added will get rid of the issue. It’s not only deleting previously saved data, but it’s also flagging the software with a “cards conversion already done”, so that it will not try to do it in the first place.

The Scenario Player is planned for v0.8.6-v0.9, as of right now, you can create characters and try the first (bad) iteration of the Scenario Creator. The new Scenario Creator with full player functionality (aka test mode) will be ready in the upcoming months. The actual ETA for the new version with the new Scenario Creator (and a ton of things to play with) is the end of May. And I plan to share a fully open scenario file, for people to both play and see how it was made, to get a foot in the door/get a feel of what you can make. There will be audio dialogues, minigames, and more! I will try to make a second devlog video this month to share the current progress.

There is not at the moment, I’m waiting for the 3 main character types to be done before working on this, as stipulated in the roadmap, beard customization is planned for v0.8. This is because I want a 2-layer system (2D+3D) for maximum realism, and if I were to make it before futas, I would have to rework it then.

It’s a bit like pubic hair, which will have a 3D layer too once futas are here.
