How to Draw: Hands (Patreon)

It's finally here...

I avoided it for as long as I could, but I just had to sit down and start the damn thing!

Our HANDS TUTORIAL!

----------

In this tutorial, I'm taking you through the bare bones ( :P ) of the hand anatomy as well as it's general proportion and the simple forms we can use to construct it simply but effectively but most importantly...quickly!

----------

If you take just one thing from this tutorial, it would be the practice of finding the box inside the palm of the hand. Without this simple understanding of the planes of the hand you will make the hand drawing process so much more difficult and frustrating.

----------

----------

The best practice to get better at hands is to simply draw a shit load of hands! I recommend digging our any anatomy book you have on hands or load up website with lots of hand drawings by artists who draw hands well, and copy EVERY. SINGLE. HAND.

This is what I did recently and the improvement in my confidence and ability to draw hands was incredible! (There's still lots of work to do though...)

My recommendations:

• Bridgman - FREE PDF
• Hogarth - FREE PDF
• Loomis - FREE PDF
