WOW! It's been a month of Gillian Gestures on Patreon already!

Thank you again for choosing to be here and share the love of gesture drawing with me. I hope that you are noticing an improvement in your drawings from what you've learned so far.

But maybe there are some burning questions that you need answered right now!

  • Do you have further questions about Lines of Action? Materials? Goal Setting?
  • Do you have questions about how gesture drawing is used for working in the animation or children's book industry?
  • Do you want to ask a specific question about drawing of yours?
  • Or maybe you just want to know all about my 2 cats Frank & Stein? ^.^

Whatever questions you have, let me know in the comments below or you can direct message me and I will do my best to answer as many as I can in a recorded Q&A on the 19th June.

This post and the answers to your questions will be available to ALL tiers!

It seems you need to now a bit of anatomy already to begin with. Some resources I have are Michel lauricella's morpho simplified forms, tom Fox anatomy for artists and Taco's anatomy. From the three, Morpho simplified forms is the one I like the best because the drawings look very rythmic, although it is not about anatomy as it is about forms. My question is: how do I get the most out of these resources? I've tried to practice mannequins but I don't get how to incorporate basic anatomy into it. Just the necessary amount to seize your instruction.

Great question Omar! I don't own the Morpho books but Ive had some students show them to me and they look like great resources. Thanks for the question! I will add it to my list.

I'm getting so much out of the videos your posting already when it comes to gestures so I look forward to more to come:) That being said I'd love to hear about gestures in relation to children's books. Like how gestures are approached for different styles kind of thing, and how far do you go with them until you start to clean up or whatever stages come after (I don't know much about the process). Also yes I would like to know all about your 2 cats Frank and Stein (love the names)

Hey Chantal, I can definitely talk about bit about how gesture drawing feeds children's illustration. I'm planning to do a whole video on exactly this topic, so I'll give you a bitesize answer in the Q&A video, but know that I will go more in depth with it soon.
